Thread: Lucid dreaming buddy system

I had an idea a while back that I reformed slightly and thought I would add here. Let's be clear now, this is NOT shared dreaming. Any discussion about that will be ignored and should be moved to Beyond Dreaming (Paranormal? I'm not quite sure how the new layout works).

Anyways, me and TheDreamingWolfess (though she's disappeared lately) came up with a system a while ago, that we didn't work on very much, but which still inspires me. Essentially, you and another person choose each other as buddies, sort of like an adoption system. You and this other person share pictures (photographs, portraits, artists' renditions, even just descriptive paragraphs) so that the other person can see you. This doesn't necessarily have to be the real you, but your persona. When you become lucid, you will then summon the other person into your dream. In theory, this new Dream Character would:
1) help keep you grounded into the dream, because you know they're associated with dreaming
2) become a lucid aid. Because you only see them while you're dreaming, you would hopefully learn to recognize that you're dreaming whenever you see them.

In this way, they function as a sort of replacement DG (unless you're one of the believers in spirits and such being your Dream Guides, in which place, the other person may become that).
