      Specific time for affirmation?

I've read on many occasions about people saying how they've used affirmations/mantras to command themselves to wake up at a certain time (usually between 4am and 6 am) during the night and have succeeded with this.

This has made me wonder if, instead of making a general affirmation such as, "When I'm dreaming I'll realise I'm dreaming and RC", you could make a more specific affirmation that includes a time. Such as, "I'll ask if I'm dreaming at 4 a.m. and RC."

Or, you could go one step further and be even more specific with an affirmation such as, "At 4.a.m I'll dream about Ted (DS) and realise I'm dreaming and RC."

Anyone tried anything like this? Do you think it could work?

I don't see why not, your body's clock is generally quite accurate and if it can wake you up then it should be able to know what time it is in a dream and make you do a reality check or whatever. I think the dreaming about something specific at a specific time would be pretty hard to do because the whole dream would just have to suddenly change from the affirmation you did earlier.

Why would you want to ask yourself to RC at a specific time though? If you say that you will do a RC when you are dreaming, that includes all the dreams we have through out the whole night, giving yourself multiple chances to become lucid from your affirmation, if you set it to a specific time then you will probably have more chance to become lucid once during the night due to the increased attention on that one time, however, you might miss that single opportunity and then you have not got another opportunity untill the next night.

I think you are correct. I think if I were to approach this kind of technique in any way I'd be better off setting my alarm to beep ever hour and try to condition myself that way.

      Thanks for replying DD.
My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.
