      Waking up during a dream

Okay so I just recently found this website and have not yet experienced a lucid dream, but I had a question about waking up during a dream.
So a lucid dreaming is having control over a dream right. Well if I dont like a dream I can wake myself up before something happens, does this have a link with lucid dreaming?

It doesnt really have a link with lucid dreaming because lucid dreaming is the act of realizing you are dreaming, although you must have some level of lucidity to be able to wake yourself up.

      Hehehehehe.

So it's not a lucid dream, but he's got lucidity to wake up from the dream.

This happens to me a lot... It's kind of like, I'll have a nightmare and it's like I'm trying to force my real eyes open, though I don't realize I'm dreaming...

There are levels of lucidity, you can be in a way lucid knowing your dreaming, but not able to realise that you can do what you want, so in effect you are aware that you are aware but not aware of what you can do while your aware other then the natural human reaction to wake up, so yes he is "Conscious" or "Lucid" to an extent, but not lucid dreaming in a traditional extent.
