      Question Try for DEILD or get up and do a Reality Check?

      Recently, in as many as 5 lucids, if not more, I've woken up very quickly after gaining lucidity. I just read the stability page on the homepage and it said to be wary of False Awakenings. This could make sense, because I never really stop thinking clearly in the transition from dream to awake; just sort of a fade to black. But also, because of what I just mentioned, I usually try to DEILD given that I am in my right mind before opening my eyes. Normally when I've tried this, I go back into a dream, but never has it happened lucidly.

      I made this thread wondering what judgement I should make when everything fades to black. Should I assume I'm really awake and try for a DEILD, or should I open my eyes and do a reality check? What do you guys think?

      I know for sure you have to be careful of the FA's. I keep waking up and looking at my clock with some gibberish and thinking to myself, stupid Chinese clocks... cant get anything right....

      yeah, the problem is, though, that I don't open my eyes, and pretty much every RC I could do involves opening my eyes.

      Also, I've entered a (hopefully short) dry-spell for recall, and thus lucids, so I haven't been able to see if it was or ever is an FA, yet.

      There are a few to do with the eyes closed, like trying to push your tongue through the roof of your mouth or blocking your airways by breathing and using the back of the throat to stop yourself from getting air, if you can breathe then you are dreaming. Both of these done correctly wont stop you from your attempt.
