      Multiple Affirmations

I've been trying this technique for multiple affirmations. When I do it diligently my recall seems to be very good.

My affirmation I use is, "I'll wake up after my next dream and remember my dream." Then after I've woken up and written the dream in my DJ I use that affirmation again.

What I do is, I repeat that affirmation when I'm in bed last thing at night and I try to catch the point when I'm falling asleep. I can usually spot this because I start missing out words in the affirmation or replacing the words with the wrong words. At the point I'm falling asleep, I open my eyes for a couple of seconds. This makes me wake a little. Then I close my eyes again and start saying the affirmation again until I reach the point where I'm falling asleep and once again open my eyes and repeat.

Sometimes I "lose" and the next thing I know I' waking up in the morning. But on the times when I've repeated this procedure several times my recall is good.

My LDing record, if you want to hear about it, is about 4 WILDs, 1 DEILD, and the rest DILDs.

That's the MILD technique with a pot luck chance of WILD success.

Trust me, I could repeat the MILD procedure verbatim The difference here is the opening of the eyes. That for me has increased my recall over not opening my eyes and falling asleep.

Sounds strange, I could not sleep if i did that, It sounds somewhat like a reverse blinking technique.

      It's nothing like reverse blinking.

He's only opening his eyes to stay awake, not fall asleep.

Reverse blinking, is opening and closing your eyes every 5-15 seconds, making your eyelids heavier each time.

What hes doing is the same thing, He just taking longer pauses and its wakeing him up rather then making him feel sleepy while in reality its making him more sleepy.

Falling asleep is a strange one for me: sleep comes very easily for me last thing at night and I have to fight to keep my eyes open. If I wake up for WBTB and MILD it's a very different story: I have to use affirmations very sparsely or they will keep me awake. It has taken me a while to get the balance right; I assume I am close because last night I got back to sleep after some affirmations and went lucid during the first "scene" of the dream.

The connection to reverse blinking has crossed my mind (regarding WILDing). I've been thinking of experimenting with reverse blinking by increasing the period of time between blinks.
