      The last step

What I usually do to try to induce lucid dreams is WBTB with a weird combo of WILD/DILD: I get back to sleep and try to WILD (BillyBob style), then fall asleep BUT I can effectively (at least once per morning) DILD.

So what's my problem? When I realize I'm in a dream, I instantly feel my waking body and remember the dream as if it ended a while ago! It's not the usual 'I realize I'm in a dream, then get excited and wake up'. I know it's not that because I've already had some. What I am experiencing is really 'I realize I am dreaming' and after an inexplicably small amount of time 'I am in my bed, thinking about my dream body'. Really weird feeling, thus hard to explain...

Anyone ever experienced this? Any thoughtful/constructive comments very welcome.
I hope I have been clear, I'll re-explain if needed.

      Hey PeaceL,
I am famaliar with Billybob's style of WILDing. I think your question is how do you stop from falling asleep during a WILD? If so, I have a few tips.

-Try counting your breaths, let your mind wander, but don't forget to say the number of breaths to yourself every time, and don't lose track.
-Focus on somekind of background noise like the heat system, plummage, anything like that.
-Relax yourself, and repeat a mantra such as "I will stay awake and go through this WILD and continue into a lucid dream."

There are plenty of ways, but just keep trying to stay awake.
      Hope I helped a bit,

Thanks for your response, but I tried to put more accent on the part where I realize that I am dreaming and just wake up directly. I don't mind drifting off to sleep, but it's the DILD that doesn't work fully...

      I understand now,
The reason why you are waking up, is usually the case that you are excited. I hope you are doing enough reality checks to form a habit, because that plays a big role. The shock that you are dreaming is enough to wake you up, and you have to be able to do it as easily as brushing dust off your shoulder. When you do reality checks in waking life, you are obviosly going to find that you are in reality and not dreaming, and your just like yeah I know... Then when you are in your dream you will be like, oh, I'm in a dream. Then when you think you have enough stability go and do what you wish.

Do you mean that after you have realised you are dreaming, thing sort of fade out really quickly then you're wide awake thinking back on the dream? If so, I have had that happen a few times. But I am not very good at DILDs and have had more success with a weird thing I do where I gain awareness between slightly waking up from a dream (best I can describe it is as some blank interlude), but I know that I'm still asleep in a way.
