not sure if this was a WILD

did the wbtb method, had tried some muscle tense/relax techniques while listening to some music for awhile until i felt extremely relaxed and decided to take off the head phones and try and fall asleep. I was laying on my side feeling my body start its usualy tingly feeling followed by a floating feeling and body distortions, some spinning, and other normal charateristics of the onset of sleep like HI, and some images..the whole time i was repeating to myself that this is all just a dream, suddenly i started thinking about my moms ab crunch machine, although my mind was wandering a little i was still mostly concious, however my thoughts focused more on it as i saw flashes of it and then, experienced it in a dream state...

The whole time i was thinking to myself, this is the beginning of sleep becuase this is some random shit im thinking about, but i didnt realize i had already gone into the dream, i just thought i was in a half sleep state and this was the reason for the vivdness of my thoughts, i was actually physically fixing the machine from my bed in this state, turning screws, then feeling a shot of air pressure on my face when it broke apart, this kind of "woke me up" and i realized i was actually dreaming, i was then paralyzed and could not move but remained calm, suddenly i found myself in my room, but it was completely empty with half of the wall bright blue and the bottom half white, i could only see two sides of the room, the vividness of the dream faded but i was able to bring it back, i could faintly hear some music i was trying to create in the background, but isuddenly awoke, possible from a barking dog i heard after fully awakening...

I realize that the WILD method is characterized by continued conciousness from the waking to dream state, i did feel like it was a pretty smooth transition, but yet again i was a little slow in recognizing the actual onset of the dream itself. Just wondering if anyone would classify this as a successful attempt, i know im close, but damn it can be frustrating.
There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt...

So VERY, VERY close! Did you say you didn't realize it was a dream until after you awoke?

It can be very frustrating, either laying there trying to get into it, or falling straight into the dream without lucidity.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

      astral

this sounds a lot like astral projection to me. research it on the web and see what you think.

p.s. in your supposed "dream" could you see all around?
