      Lucidity using a "Talking Watch"

      Hi all! *

I often have false awakenings (i.e., I believe I'm awake when I'm really still asleep) and I was constantly struggling to find a way to help me determine what state I was really in.

It got to the point that it was really hard for me to do reality checks that required my moving my hand (to plug my nose to see if I could breath) or opening my eyes (i.e, looking for a light, reading something, checking my watch etc.). Either I was too lazy or I felt that if I moved my hand or opened my eyes, and it was a false awakening, that I would really wake myself up.

I figured there had to be a better way.

I happened to get a magazine called "Dr. Leonard's" and in it was my answer.. a "talking watch".

Basically this is a wrist watch that shows you the time but.. if you press a button.. it will TELL you the time (i.e., "IT IS TEN FORTY-FIVE PM").

Instead of wearing the watch, I hold it in my hand where my thumb can press the button.

Using the WBTB method, you then lay on your back (or on your side) holding the watch and, periodically until you fall asleep (say every five minutes or so), you press the button. When you press the button, you'll hear the time and you should repeat once or twice your intentions (i.e., I will realize that I am dreaming and become lucid).

Hopefully, just as you've crossed the fine line from wakefulness to being asleep, you will press the button. Since you are not really awake and only THINK that you are pressing the button.. you will NOT hear the time. *When the watch doesn't tell you the time.. it will be your trigger to let you know that you are dreaming and to become lucid!

When your think your lucid dream has ended, be sure to press the button on your watch again to VERIFY that you're not experiencing a "false awakening". You may really still be asleep in which case.. no voice.. and more lucid
      dreaming time!

This watch reality check has worked for me and I hope it will work for others as well! *

If you wish to get a talking watch, they can be found for $6.99 + S&H at http://apparel.drleonards.com/Appare...ches/30316.cfm item # 81612).
< Please note that I have no affiliation to this company.. it's just a place to get the watch. >

This watch can also be set to announce the hour or be used as an alarm (with a rooster crowing). :-)

If you find the "voice" too loud as I did.. just put scotch tape over the "speaker" to muffle it.
