I thought about how most of my LD's are about empty places. If there are people in my non-LD's, they disappear when I go lucid - and if I would dump into a DC while lucid, chances were I'd wake up soon because they'd scare or anger me. Summoning a desired DC the usual way - by saying/thinking "My friend X is behind that door" never worked for me, either.

So here's what I came up with, instead:

The whole day yesterday, at any random time, I would reach back over my shoulder with my hand, thinking: OK, girl, grab my hand and come over here. And while doing that, I didn't think: is it reality or a dream? I did that totally on impulse. Because that's how LD's work for me. If I think too much - nothing happens, most of the time, because I'm giving myself time for doubt and self-doubt. If I just EXPRESS what I want - out loud or in my head - in a demanding tone... it happens. So anyway... I repeated that many times during the day. And then during a dream! I reached out over my shoulder - and... I felt someone grab my hand! I spawned... my cousin! Not exactly who I expected, but hey, she IS a girl Plus, I didn't really try to visualize who I want to spawn, anyway.

It was fun! Plus, it was my first LD in almost two weeks, so I'm all the more happy. It seems like they only happen if I think of a specific goal I want to achieve rather than just "I want to have a LD". It also helps to keep coming up with non-standard RC's. Another one that I'd been trying - and had it work - was telling myself to fly. I do that at random, at any time of the day, at any place. E.g. I'm on my way home, walking, and I think: "Up!"
