Hi guys....since someone came up with FILD...Y not rig up a micro switch...a small tiny switch used in door closed sensors in lifts..etc if you can get one from radioshack. But problem with micro switches is that the connection requires soldering work and is bare so you can't use mains voltage. Basically when we fall asleep the muscles relax and yes the switch is normally closed or in the ON position. When the finger presses it is off you can fall asleep but when the switch is released the light or WILD aid (light or audio) comes on. For those who know electronics you could put a delay to turn on say like 5 minutes after releasing the switch to allow your fingers to rest a bit on and off before really dozing off. |

Hi....thanks for replying I thought no one would ...XD. I'm not an electronic expert more like electrical inclined but there are many circuits you can follow on the net..most use the 555 timer but I am like too 'lazy' to build one. I am thinking of using a regular light instead which can also be made to blink.. |

Okay, I think I figured out what timer I'll be using. I have this alarm with two parts: one on the door and the other part on the frame above the door. When the two parts become out of proximity (a few inches), the alarm sounds. I took it apart and hooked up an LED in place of the alarm speaker. It works great because the alarm noise would pulse, and with the LED hooked up, it also pulses! |

I was just thinking, would it be possible to have a recording (5 minutes of silence in the beginning, and then have a tone that pulses the volume in and out) played through a modified set of headphones (with the headphones removed and have light(s) replacing them)? I'm wondering how much voltage goes through a normal set of headphones when hooked up to an iPod. |

Hi...about the light I use yes it's positioned at a distance cause I find wearing things while sleeping difficult and I tend to remove the gadget when it goes off like unplugging the ear phones when the cue went off I know it went off cause it always happen. The chip circuit I used for the delay was bought from a store but the chip they used is the 4060 counter. I do have the schematics if you are interested I can scan it for you but you'd have to use the bread board. I also have their cycle timer also using the 4060 chip and schematics which I use for the REM timing. You know how to connect resistors/IC numbering and stuff then it would be easy to build one. The kit uses common things that I think should be available in electronic hobby shops I have already burned 3 4060s by wrong polarity fortunately they are replaceable. Btw it sounds like where you are living it's difficult to get electronic parts is it? |

That would require some engineering although it sounds like an easy idea I'm not up to it.. |

Why make getting lucid so complicated as to create a need for extra apparatus? Practice DILD/MILD/DEILD/WILD, and you have cost-free lucid dreams that you can do anywhere, anytime. |

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.
No, I'm just cheap! |

It's complicated to you and most people who are not familiar with electrical stuff which is not a fair judgment for those who want to get lucid with their knowledge of using devices. To me using the techs on the tutorial is more complicated than what I'm using because most are confusing and involve unnatural thought habits that would negatively affect waking life in the long run. |
