Contacting angels or spirits through lucid dreaming

Has anyone had an experience w/ a spirit or angel in a dream? I believe dreaming could be a tool to contact spirits or angels and was wondering what you think. I myself have not had any experience like this. Has there been any posts similar to this that i haven't found?

Here is an excerpt from a post I made yesterday, but it kind of relates to what you're asking so I'll paste it...

I have experienced something like the sci-fi's as you describe them. My experience included the body vibrations as I "left" the bed. I made a small venture through my house, but suddenly I felt myself fall back into the bed, or into the "duplicate" as you call them. The strangest thing about my experience was that it was climaxed by a bedside visitation by an imposing apparition, followed by some painful constrictions in my chest. This apparition looked like a tall righteous warrior filled with light rather than physical features. As I felt the constrictions the apparition spoke to me in what I can only describe as a form of telepathy, telling me that I should quit smoking because this (the pain) is what it would lead to. It wasn't like waking up when I came out of it, I just kind of snapped myself out of the constrictions, and was left with the feeling of... holy shit what just happened, I was pretty drained from the experience. I CERTAINLY have not ruled out the fact that I was dreaming, in fact that is what I do think. However, I cannot rule out "paranormal" because... nobody can rule it out! I've had MANY LD's about walking or "moving" about my house and the surrounding terrain, but only this one was accompanied by the physical feelings of exit and entry. And the only time I have met up with someone who seemed to be something other than a construct or dream character.

The most obvious explanation is sleep paralysis. In SP, people often are visited by a strange being in their bedroom. This being is often an evil attacker, but I thought it was interesting that I saw this presense as some sort of righteous entity instead.

      Several Dreams coming true

I have had several experiences with lucid dreaming or precognition.
On summer before I was to go to college in the Fall, I kept having this dream of the place I have never seen before. It was a field of grass leading to this creek and a embankment with a wooded area. It was a very vivid and colorful dream. I had know idea what it meant, until I went to school. I was in an Ecology class and the professor said lets take a field trip on the land of the college. The college owned about 800 acres of land. The professor took us directly to that grassy field in my dream and then we walked further and I saw the same creek and embankment and woods that were in my dream.

Another dream I had was about my Grandmother.
The night before I was to be married. I sat in my room crying that my grandmother that had been dead for 12 years at this time could never meet my new husband. My grandmother and I were very close and she is something I can only describe as an angel in real life. So anyway, I went sleep that night and she came to me in a dream. She was walking in her garden and talking to me as she walked. She said, "Don't worry, when you see butterfly I will be nearby" and she smiled and faded away. The next day I was walking to the place I was getting married. What happened next is something I can only describe as magical, paranormal, etc. My future husband said to me lets go get married and at that time a "flock" or group of Monarch butterfly numbering in the 100's flew all around us.

. I once had a Dream of the Very Angel of God (it may have been God Himself). I was at the grave site of Erasmus, and on his grave stone was graffiti which said "Erasmus will not live beyond the grave". Well, I thought to myself "of course he will live beyond the Grave... everybody does". This is when the Angel of God appeared -- as a huge Form of Flaming Lights as large as a great fiery oak tree. Instantly my knees gave out beneath me and I collapsed into a kneeling position, and tears sprang from my eyes -- all automatically with no thought, no real emotion... it was simply what would happen in the presence of the Angel of God. Then It spoke, "No. Not everyone will live beyond the grave. But Erasmus will". and then this next part will surprise you, as it always has surprised me... that I had the audacity to speak back to this Angel of God. I said, "What about me... Will I live beyond the grave". There was a great pause as It seemed to think about it an eternal moment. Then He ( or It) replied "You too will live beyond the Grave, but remember One Thing -- that birth is but an illusion and Christ is the Life in All Things".

Recently I have had dreams in which I have been taken up into Heaven to be in the Presence of the Blessed Virgin Queen of Heaven. I've come to regard all helpful Archetypes and Guides within my dreams as being Angels -- an Archetype to a Psychology Student is an Angel to a Seminarian... we cannot get bogged down in words, but Things are what they are.

someone out there would surely say you are 'fey' if you keep dreaming things like that. Especially with the religious convictions you must have.
I think i'd be worried if i kept dreaming of heaven...dreaming of death is bad enough

Again, let's not get bogged down in words. Yes, popular protestant superstition supposes that Heaven is a place reserved for dead people. Here they may be mistaken in two ways -- that it is only for dead people, and that hell -- the lower Astral realms -- are not the more usual places for the dead to go.

When I speak of Heaven, I speak of the Higher Astral -- the Community and Society of God and the Loyal Angels. Why should one have to die to visit there. If Humanity is to undergo the Next Stage in its Spiritual Development, wouldn't that probably involve living Visits into Heaven. The Boundaries break down.

My emphasis may be off. Sri Aurobindo used to speak of the SuperMental Consciousness rather descending from Above. But I suspect the Transcendence goes both ways. Earth will rise to heaven as Heaven descends to earth.
