Now let's think about this for a minute; Monster99d, you might be on to something.
I too read regularly here that these dream and astral "planes" are actual places, often with unique physics, occupants, even histories, and currently the only way we can construct portals to them is through the dream state. But it's never really discussed why dreams are the only way to access these apparently very real places. If they are real, why couldn't we all go Narnia and set up a doorway to them in our closet, or back yard?
Logically, it follows. I wonder if the inability to explain why access to these planes is limited only to dreams might betray the fact that these planes are not real, but rest completely within the vivid imaginations of the dreamers who visit them? That is of course not a bad thing, and I always applaud the ability of a person who can conjure such grand vision. But in the end is it a good thing to decide that your brilliant invention is a reality unto itself? I'm not sure.
Monster99d, you ask a very important question here, and I hope someone who believes these planes are real can join in and let us know why we can't access them from waking life...
