Seeing stars with my eyes closed.

Let me start off by saying closed eye visuals are nothing out of the ordinary for me. They have been happening more recently and stronger before bed however. One thing that i almost always can see when i close my eyes is a very very distant light. The size of a grain of sand maybe. Its always straight in front of me and usually doesn't move. Some nights i'm able to see what looks like the entire night sky with my eyes closed. This doesn't include pushing on my eyes or any sort of pressure that would cause this to happen.

I've been told this was one version or type of AP. I'm fully awake though and can always decide to open my eyes whenever this happens. Anyone ever have any similar experiences or know what this might be?

Also i get the strongest result when i'm actually trying to see. When i put effort into it i can see a lot of stars. Let me say again though this is NOT by putting any sort of pressure on my eyes. Simply looking into the black a certain way with a certain goal in mind. Which is to see in this way.

the point of light you're seeing could be your 3rd eye view. i've heard of this where people will get it just barely opened the size of a pinhole. you can try focusing on actually trying to move to that point of light and possibly get out of body that way. for me personally i've never done it that way but i've heard stories from others who have.

This is exactly the way i see it actually.. i have had nights where i would focus on the point more and more and then things began to shapeshift and before i knew it i would have to wake myself up/ open my eyes because it would start to freak me out. also when i'm projecting like this i cant help but have this nagging feeling that i'm being looked at or observed while i'm doing this.. which in all honesty is a bit unnerving at times.

i wouldn't worry about being observed much. nothing you can do about that right? but you're right in feeling that you are. keep along this route and you're bound to run into your helpers sooner or later. i've had trouble getting out of body where i am only partially out and raised up my hand and asked for help and had another hand grab mine and pull me right out. the more experiences you have the less fear you will have about it.
