Possible to astral travel but not remember?

I first found out about lucid dreaming and astral travel 8 years ago and was immediately intrigued. In a matter of a few months I had done immense amounts of research and started practicing techniques I found in order to have my own experiences. There was some interesting results with limited success; finally a few years ago, I simply stopped trying. If I did not simply fall asleep, which happened about half the time, I would wake up a few hours later feeling as if I had spent the time sitting there awake. I was always utterly exhausted like I hadn't slept at all. Almost every time this happened I would struggle with this nagging feeling that I had forgotten something. For the first few years, I just dismissed this as my mind playing tricks or finding a way to make me believe I had some kind of success. However, a few strange things came up that had me questioning this. It started with my closest friend D. Whether or not some believe this, he was extremely sensitive to the energy and emotions of others as well as spiritual beings. No one, including him, knew about my interest in astral travel so likewise, I never knew about his innate intuition or the fact that he was a long-time traveler himself. One day out of the blue he asked me, "How long have you been traveling in your sleep?" Needless to say, I was shocked at this question and asked him what prompted the question. He then told me about his hidden talents and told me he had been having conversations with me in his dreams. Apparently on some of these nights I traveled to him to ask for advice and guidance. He suspected I was indeed traveling but for some reason was not bringing these experiences back with me. Has anyone had similar experiences? Or does anyone have any thoughts? I would love an opinions about this so I can try to overcome this roadblock. Thank you so much everyone! -Nox

My opinion is yes, we do astral travel every night. Same way we don't remember our dreams unless we wake up short time after it's over, we don't remember our travels either. or we may remember them as dreams. Unles we come back from astral journey with awareness and immediatelly wake up and write it down, we just go back to sleep and lose any memory of it. If you interested and don't find it on her thread, let me know and I'll PM it to you. One night, I woke up and saw my body 3 feet above me, about half way between bed and window. At the same time, I saw my room from elevated perspective, about 3 feet in the air. I felt hands on my ankles, as I was being dragged outside. This was at the time, when I was more intensly concentrating on OBEs and I had a desire for my guardian to help me 'exit', but was too scared to actually say the wish out loud. I think these journeys are what inspired the alien abducion stories.
