      Unusual method for Astral Projection?

Recently I have been quite interested in Astral Projection and found this method on the internet:

This method requires no concentration or deep relaxation procedures, but unlike all the others, it will need the assistance of a second person.
Warning: This method can be dangerous to those with a weak heart, so consider this wisely!
Whoever you choose to assist with this technique must have a certain degree of patience as they will have to watch you from the point of settling down to the point of almost falling asleep.
The method is quite simple. All you will be required to do is lie down on your back and hold one forearm up in the air so that your elbow is resting on the bed, then remain in this position as you attempt to drift off to sleep. Your assistant, who should be sitting quietly nearby, is required to watch your arm as you start to fall asleep and notice how it starts to sway as you lose consciousness.
As soon as your arm has fallen onto the bed, that person will then have to shout out in your ear, "GET OUT!" or "JUMP OUT!"
The idea of this is to make you jump out of your skin, literally. If you have any other people in the house at the time, i.e., family members, it's usually a good idea to tell them about the experiment before you start!

Does anyone think this would actually work?

Also I was just wondering about when you project, say if you went outside, would you see everything actually happening at that time like cars going past and people walking?

If someone shouts "GET OUT" while I'm falling asleep I'd probably rather slap them in the face than induce an OBE.
The good part of the method has been published by LaBerge 20 years ago and is a stardard alternative 2-person WILD method.

If someone shouted something like that, they'd better have a death wish. I do not like to be disturbed in the trans state, and can WILD(...?) from that point. If someone disturbs, me, I am highly startled, sting like crazy (as if millions of needles were going in & out), very aggressive, & more than likely to attack them (my cat sometimes does this [when making himself comfy, or bathing himself w/that loud slurping noise]...I slap him, grab him, & kick him out of my room)!!
Of course, if something in dream imagery/sounds were to startle me.....

I have never heard of this method. Sounds lind of crazy to me..but only because I would hate to have someone scream at me while I am just dozing off.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars. You have a right to be here. And whether or not it it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

I believe that same method has been suggested for an out of body experience. Something similar has happened to me once.

I was pacing around mindlessly in the kitchen and my mom snuck up right behind me. I had the feeling something was behind me, and when I turned around she moved her head towards me and my point of view changed to a foot higher for a second. I am guessing it was more of an AP than an OBE since my vision did not change colors like an OBE does.

This was before I had AP'd, I had already been looking into OBEs at this point in time.

      Delete me: Double post

Stupid double post, I don't think it ever gave confirmation, so I was wondering. I know the PHP got into debug mode. Feel free to delete.

No, by definition they aren't. There are different definitions depending on who you ask, but I know they are different by experience. An OBE vision was the only real sense I've had, and everything was predominantly green and purple. AP had more vivid senses, specifically touch and feel Everything turned a little brighter, as if it was a cartoon drawing of my street.
