Is it possible to share dreams with another person?

I looked this up online, and some people say that it is possible..I just want to know if anyone on the board has experienced this, and could tell me what it is like.

Also, my boyfriend told me when he was young he always used to have nightmares, and that his dad used to get in his dreams in order for him not to be scared. He said that they used to talk about the dream the next day.
