      Are These OBE Events ?

Hello everyone. My first post and obviuosly you will learn what brought me here.I am aware this site has tutorials available, so I will be doing the reading but in the meantime just wanted to share my experiences as my first post.

I will describe my experiences but keep in mind that alot of other "mental" experiences pre-dated these, so it wasn't like one day it just happened out of the blue. This post is my first at reaching out to others and sharing my experiences. I have had three events which all have had the same characteristics. They have spanned about a 16 month period.

      My first event:
It was the middle of the night, as I had gone to sleep late. I thought I woke up but my body was paralyzed and tingling. All of a sudden, in this paralyzed state, I felt like my body was rising off the bed. At this point I remember I was very, very scared. A dreadful feeling. It felt like some force, something outside myself was "stealing" my body. It felt like I was being abducted by aliens and those thoughts are exactly what entered my mind as the celing was growing closer. I desperately wanted it to stop and I broke out of it.
I had done some research on OBE after this but nothing extensive...just skimmed some reading.

      Second:
Same thing, months later. I realized when it started that I had experienced it before. I tried to tell myself that I am "safe" even though I felt a great deal of fear again. I tried to go with the flow as my body again was paralyzed and I began to slowly rise above the bed. This one I have a hard time recalling how it ended but I think it was an uneventful end.

      Third:
Happened a few days ago. Paralysis, fear (although not as pronounced as the first two times), and rising and floating are the common characteristics now. This time my thoughts were tainted by what I had read about OBE's. As it felt like my body was rising off the bed, I wanted to turn around and see if I could see myself. This is why I say tainted becuase I do not think I would have thought that had I not read about OBE's. As soon as I thought this, I was back down in the bed and it was over. The thought of turning around and looking down at myself ended the experience.

Yes, I have had lucid dreams. My biggest problem is waking up the moment I realize I'm dreaming. I have been able to once or twice make it last after the realization but I get too excited (yes, I'm aware this is common) and I snap out of the dream.

      Any thoughts ?

Probably. The problem is that perception is relative. Suppose you and I undergo the exact same experience. We will (almost always) not perceive it the same. Further, there is a lot of gray as to what actually constitues an OBE, AP, et cetera. Sometimes it's tought to answer whether you did or did not, but it seems like you did.

For me, I feel large parts of the body tingling, then as I rise out of my body I get that feeling of disconnection. Then I see mainly purple, green, and red.

      Yeah, those are OBE events.

You'll be alittle afraid the first few times, but eventually you'll get used to it.

I've had Ethereal and Astral Projections through Sleep-Paralysis. Actually Sleep-Paralysis is my only way of inducing them.

Me and my little brother are working on having OBEs in the Ethereal at the time that way we can see outselves. [He's yet to project, however his sleep-paralysis history is similar to mine, and since May 13th I've projected 5 times, he's just starting now]
