Lol, spongebob, now if you base reality on that then that's more messed up than usual dreams.

Don't watch that show, it messes with your head and the laws of physics!! Nah just kidding, (although I'm not a fan).

Beyond dreaming = weird stuff = shared dreaming.

Now say it is real, imagine the possibilities!! Opens up a whole new door on the idea of self. I am yet to share a dream

As for shared dreaming, I believe it is possible. I do so because of our consciousness. Although nothing has been proved, I believe consciousness is non-physical and interconnected. I believe it is possible to contact each others consciousness/sub-consciousness and interact. The consciousness would survive the physical death, and would be able to contact beings of pure consciousness as well as those in a physical vehicle - although it wouldn't be able to show itself on the physical plane. This would explain phenomenas like remote viewing, channeling, astral projection and probably others as well.

Of course, everybody can't have the same opinions, but luckily we can share them

I am HIGHLY sceptical (because it would demolish my entire world-view) but open minded, after-all its hardly as if science has the whole picture.

My partner and I keep trying to do it, but either don't LD at the same time, or forget. We have arranged a place to meet in case that makes a difference. The password idea is a good one - but dreams are so random I think it would be instantly obvious if it were shared:

Me: "What did you dream?"
GF: "Well, we were collecting pink triangular pebbles that spoke Yiddish"
Me: " Me too!"

Same goes for OBE (it seems linked to the possibility of shared dreams) - I'm sceptical but it should be easy enough to check (prove but not dissprove) that one too - however I still haven't managed: Put a random unknown playing card face up on the top shelf, check it out when OOB, then confim by checking the real card... I would have thought that if OOBE was fact, there would be no need for spies. E.g. The CIA/MI5 surely has oobers who could have found Saddam ages ago (unless they were guarded by astral agents of their own???) There's $1million waiting for anyone who can OOBE - from James Randi. But ! always wondered if this isn't just a recruiting method for the CIA/MI5 who offer $10million if you sign the official secrets act and go work for them!!!

You shouldn't take James Randi's offer too seriously...

There's a thread about it there which explains why it's probably a hoax.

Sounds like a great experiment !

Just been reading all day about Randi's $Million challenge and OBE/AP etc on www.astralsociety.com and www.randi.org

RE the test being a fraud - there's intense (often v emo) arguments on both sides - I'm exhausted and none the wiser... But basically the test looks OK to me, although Mr Randi does seem like a bit of a tommy tanker.

Will just try the card thing for now - if it works I'll just skip the challenge and use my powers to remote view women's changing rooms, and perhaps indulge in a little insider trading.

Now I'm sounding like a merchant banker

Good job I know you're joking about at least one of your remote viewing targets Slim!! Since we're currently trying to dream share AND visit the same card your dreamself might just have to be on best behaviour !

Anyone here managed a dreamshare but with a time delay? I.e. same/similar dream but on different nights?

The other night, I fell into a lucid dream. Suddenly I got transported into a white room. I looked around and saw my friend Ian. I had discussed lucid dreaming with him a few nights ago, and he told me he was capable of it, and I have inspired him into starting doing it again. Ian approaches me and says, "I put myself into a lucid dream, and decided to summon you". He tells me to twirl myself around, to prolong the lucidity. I do so, and it feels fantastic. We then fly around outside (the room turns out to be floating in the sky). He then turns to me, "I gotta go man, its 8:30, mum is in my room, got to go to University (College in Australia)", I unintentionally woke up too.

Later that day I catch Ian on msn. I tell him what happened, but he doesn't remember having a lucid dream, last night, not even a normal dream with me in it.

Still a pretty cool experience

nothing is possible until u discover it bengamin franklin didnot invent electricity, it was already there but he discovered it just like lucid dreams are not created but discovered behind ur subconscious mind...there might be a way that we can indeed use telepathy to connect to other dreamers through lucid dreams.. indeed a shared lucid dream can be that telepathy took place...u never now

I see two possible explanations for Shared Dreaming (be warned, neither is very good...)
1- telepathy between the sleepers. I believe telepathy is possible. The odds were 81/1000000...
2- the New Age thinkers are right, and dreams really do take place in a mystical parallel dimension called 'astral', and you can communicate with others there. I don't see this one being right.

Yup, let's be nice in here

I've had one with my wife, and have no explanation for it.
It's tantamount to mutual telepathy.

Just as with TK, I don't expect anyone to believe it simply because I say I had one.
And it's not like it's a reproducible event either.

BTW, if you want to read about a scientist who wrote a book on telepathy - there's a book called 'The feeling of being stared at' or something like that. I forget the author, someone help me here..

I'm sure it's 'stared', and I've read some of it.
I bought the book a while back. Interesting, but long winded as only these books can be

Hello Drk Pwnr. I have to mostly agree with you. The astral's a little wonky for me, but the odds were 81 in a million...

its ok...take the best opportunity when you're fully lucid and try to actually find one of your friends but in the dream, and talk to them...try touching them because by contact, it transfers "nuero transmition" its almost like telekinesis due to the fact that it's a dream and its occuring in your head lucidly...try to convince them that indeed you are both in a dream...herhaps if u try doing something like "flying" ect might get their awareness du to the fact that they notice flying is not real in the real world >>>>> have fun with your lucid buddy

hey tell me something, did your friend ever intended going to that collecge you just mentioned???help me out here, i can probably give u a meaning

Question: Has the password test for shared dreaming been successfully performed? I'm eager for evidence that shared dreaming is real (I've been speculating about it all over the forums), but I want to make sure.
Ten years without a dream, now starting almost from scratch.

We're messing with our bodies on a very low level here - can we break them? What will it take to hurt ourselves?

A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.

Hmm... Now you've got me wondering what would happen if you got a normal DC lucid. Would it still be under your control or would it try doing whatever it wants?...

If I met a friend I wanted to pull out into lucidity I'd be doing a lot of things to them >_>
Shaking them out of it would probably be as far as I go though. I'll try my best. It'd be fun to have a shared dream.

It's a good idea to give a password to your friend/family member in your dream. If she remembers it then it's certain you've experienced a shared dream.
