Is it true it takes 3 hours to meditate and be in the zone to be able to be out of your body feeling all light? a guy at work told me you need to be in the zone and meditate for 3 hours. I tried for 30 minutes and all i got was feeling weight pulling me down (sleep paralisis(sp)?) on my bed.

Also, he doesn't know what the problem with my eyes are but at times my eyes like to force open. Doesn't happen all the time but several times in the 30 minute meditation my eyes kept trying to force open, aswell as move side to side really fast. How do i get rid of that?

I'm no expert, but things differ from person to person. OOBEs are similar to WILDs, so you can wake up after 5 to 6 hours of sleep and try it then. It will be much quicker.
People feel many things when in SP, some feel heavy, some float so I guess it doesn't really matter what you get.
The eyes thing looks to me like Rapid Eye Movement. I'm still no expert though. If it is REM then you can't, nor shouldn't stop it, since it is the most important sleep stage (I think).

Sorry if I wasn't very helpfull.

There are many different ways to meditate, and many different levels to achieve in the practice. If you can meditate for a half hour, you're way ahead of most people! Proficiency comes with practice. Don't frustrate yourself, but always reach a bit beyond your comfort zone. You'll often be surprised at what is waiting to be experienced just beyond the horizon.

Just wondering but is there a medical term for OOBE? like NDE's are part of the brain, they can make you see the light, make you feel that you don't care you are out of your body because you are free, etc. How about OOBE? kinda iffy on this because hows the brain or you body know stuff it cant see? like say you float onto a roof on a building to a place you never been before and see stuff up there, then you prove it when you are in your real body. I'm sure the expertes have something they can call it.

3 hours to get in the zone? only takes me 1

I don't try to AP though... I do a spiritual meditation where you channel the energy of the universe and you get this tingly sensation all over your body. I do it to raise my spiritual vibration so that when I die I will go to a higher astral realm. I have AP'd a couple of times... I did it in the morning, I would get up 2 hours earlier than usual and basically do the WILD technique, I would keep repeating in my mind "is anyone there? can you hear me?" and just try to keep consciously active whilst letting your body fall back asleep. OOBE is supposed to be different from AP, I have tried both. I was actually trying WILD for the first time one night and you know how some people experience vibrations just before they enter the dream and you are supposed to let them pass? well I tried forcing the vibration and trying to pull away from it so the vibration got stronger but i pushed on and pulled away from it and experienced an OOBE.

Anyway, you should try meditating more, even if it's just the stilling the mind technique where you try to keep a clear mind and stop your innervoice from talking. It's very good for you... and for your dreams! You will find after practising it more the eye problems will stop and as you become more experienced with meditating you will enjoy it more and become much better at it.

I've never vibrated, nor felt vibrating. So AP and OOBE are different you say, yet the same thing. Floating around...AP is in a realm or something and OOBE is in the world. I just wanna fly....
