My dreams that tell the future..?

      Hey guys...
I can't believe im doing this...but here it goes.
Since I was a little kid I've always had my feelings. For example, when I was seven I was on a ride at the carnvial...as the man started the ride I knew something bad was going to happen. Soon enough, someone fell off the ride and was hurt. I'm always able to know when something bad is going to happen. It's a gift god gave me (i suppose anyway)and it's came in handy most of my life.
But my dreams are the most stunning. I dream what's going to happen in the future. Is this possible? I could dream whats going to happen to someone, me, who will win the softball game, what will happen thats bad/good, what will happen throughtout the day, what i will do the next day..and well you get the point. WHAT DOES ALL OF THIS MEAN? i mean I could dream of the stupidest thing..and have it mean something. Sometimes I have to look for signs..Ok i could dream about...seeing my river. Then the next day I have to look for something about the *river*...seing the river... its like a sign as to what will happen. IS ANYONE ELSE LIKE THIS? IS IT A GIFT?
I'm not on here to be fake or anything like that. I just think I need to know why this happens...and if other people have it too.
      THANKS!
      <<Jess>>
Just because you see things, it doesn't always mean it's really there...When u least expect it, expect it.

Hey whoa-ness, thats really interesting, you should keep a dream journal on this site, and some kinda review to say whether anything happened in the day that also happened in the dream.
Ive never experienced anything like that, a couple of times I have visited somewhere new and recognised it from somewhere and realised i had seen it in a dream, but I think that could just be deja-vu for me.

If you really can see the future, that's a great gift!

I dont really know much about precognition, but you can research it on google I guess...

I don't know much about precog either, but I do know that time is an illusion experienced by mortals like us.

It is interesting that you mentioned a river. That is time. The river exists everywhere at once, in the mountain where it "starts", in the plains where it "flows" and in the ocean where it "ends".

But wait, does not the river also exist as water vapor evaporated from the ocean? Does it not also exist as snow that falls in the mountains?

It is only our closed minds that look at the river and see it as flowing.

Perhaps you are a lucky individual that is able to see "upstream"?

      Anyway, rambling off.

      Welcome to DV!
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I remember dreaming when young. I hated it, like if someone was trying to torture me every time I sleep.

Oh and edvice for Whoa-Ness, what is currently happening in your life. For me to see if your similarity is the same as what you dream.
When I dream, theres always a
little girl playing in the dirt, that
turns to me and says "Why are
you here? .... Are you blind like
      me?"

      What I've found
      What I've known
Never shined to me what I've shown
      Never be
      Never free
I wish to see what might have been...
...So I talk to you unbeliever.

I walk in the rain. 1111

I think that having a sense of "knowing" things just is for some people. You can think of it as a gift if you feel that it is a gift but I think you are just more in touch with your 6th sense than most. I experience this so often that I have just decided to go with it. The thing is that everthing I dream isn't exactly a precog dream so it takes a while to know the difference and I can say that I know how scary it can be to awake from a bad dream and fear that it will come true. Mine usually come to pass in a day or two and often the events are not that significant but still give me a chill. Example: I had a dream that I was holding an iguana and the next day I was walking down the street and a woman asked for me to help her get her pet igauna off her window ledge and asked if I would take it because she couldn't deal with it anymore. It's strange but I just figure "Oh well, I saw this coming".
It's the big stuff that I have considered therapy over like the kind of preminitions that have destructive and bad endings. It does get a bit much to deal with. If you really need help coping you should not hesitate to talk to someone about it and don't be afraid to "come out" about having these expereinces as it helps to live with them and learn to understand them.

My mom suggested that I try finding information about what happens to me sometimes, so i found this sight and wondered if anyone knew any experts on this sort of thing:

I have dreams where something will happen, but it's always without sound, and i won't recognize the setting. I usually dismiss the dreams as just another dream caused by past events/memories but then later on, usally one to two weeks later, i get a feeling of deja vu and then realize that my dream is actually happening (or another way to say it is my dream was of the future, which is scary to think about). I saw that one person hadsomething similar happen to him, how the dream would be everyday occurences, and i'm pretty glad to know now that it's not just happening to me. Anyhow if any of y'all could help me out or direct me to something that can help me out with this, that'd be most excellent.

wtf wierd stuff happens to me too... i wouldnt consider it "phsycic" but sometimes really wierd mental things happen like i can control people for a while... like for example my teacher was assigning new seats and i was thinking of someone and he put them there! it was really freaky but i made him put like 4 people where i wanted them to be in a row but i wasnt able to do it any more... other random things have happened before but i dont know if its just coincidence or not...

Could it be that afterwards you 'became aware' that you thought something bad was going to happen? I apologize if I come off sounding a bit rude, but I do not believe in psychic abilities.

Humans have this ineffable and often fanatical desire to believe that they are somehow in control of their futures. They want to believe that they have powers beyond comprehension and science. In reality, those thoughts are just an illusion meant to stimulate their urge to be unique and powerful and grounded. Although the human brain is quite powerful and complex, it does not have the ability to sense the future; no matter how much desire you may have.

I do believe, however, that certain people have a greater awareness then others. Perhaps you have great perception? Maybe, subconsiously you are constantly analyzing situations and probability in order to achieve a hightened sense of outcomes?

i mean I could dream of the stupidest thing..and have it mean something[/b]
      There's your answer!

You are trying to give meaning to nothing. It's very easy to capture signs from dreams that may occur throughout the day due to the spontaneous and often unpredictable nature of dreams and thoughts. For instance, last night I dreamt of climbing into a tree with a thermos of coffee sitting on a branch next to me. Then, during the day today, I spilled some caffinated drink on the floor. Was the dream telling me that I should be extra careful because my drink will be perched precariously on the edge of something?

As you can see, it's quite easy to give meaning to dreams if you are looking for meaning.

but i mean we all only use 5% of our brainz so nethingz possible.[/b]
I am here to dispell myths.

That is a myth. We use our entire brains always.

The same thing happens to me. Ever since I was little I would have these dreams and then they would happen and it would be like wow I had a dream about that.

For example, I had a dream with my teacher talking to us about the sun blowing up and he was moving his hands as he was talking.

Anyways, I didn't think that could happen at all because it would be really off topic but during the same day that week our teacher suddenly went of subject for almost the whole class and was talking to us about the sun blowing up and then end of the world and then he moved his hand a certain way and it hit me that it was exactly as what was in my dream.

Later, that day I looked it up in my dream diary and it was there.

This has developed over time though.

I later had a dream about going on vacation and something taking place in the store of theirs.

I also just took this down as an average dream because we had already went on vacation to this place and I didn't think we were going back. However, the next year we did go back.

We were in the store but this time I remembered the dream a mintute before it happened not after. So then my dad just like in the dream turned around and pointed to the exact same pair of pajammas that were in the dream and asked if I wanted them.

I was smiling because I knew what was going to happen but I was in too much shock that I actually remembered my dream before the thing happened to properly respond to the question. It was weird.

So, anyways I believe you. I have the dreams but I don't have the bad feelings. The dreams kind of just flash before my eyes a minute or two later it will happen and then I can look it up in my dream journal and confirm it.

When I was younger I had times that I had dreams that were very vivid, I knew that if I had a dream like that than something in that dream was going to happen or it would be important in some way. Eg. When I was around seven I dreamt that there was a fire and within the week my Grandmother's kitchen caught on fire and half of her house burned. The most recent and memorable one occured when last year I had this dream of my Great Grandmother that we were walking in the woods by her house that she lived in when I was growing up and she was telling me that she was going back to the place she loved....She died sometime that night. There have also been little things such as a dream that I got lost and couldn't find anyone that I knew and shortly after I got lost in a big mall in a city that I had never been to before while on vacation. This happened shortly after the fire. Things have definitely slowed down now but still things will happen that will incur a sence of deja vu that I know I dreamed about even if I don't always remember the dreams.

it seems that some of you know what i'm talking about, i can't exactly recall, but one of you talked about that "deja vu" feeling, and someone else was talking about the teacher waving their hands. It's stuff like that i'm talking about, like you don't recognize that your dream is happening until the teacvher waves their hands in the exact pattern etc. etc. So my questions are, why does this not happen to everyone? Why is it not more openly spoken of among the people it does happen to? Why isn't there more information about it?

Last week I had a dream that I was in TOkyo. Two days later a show came on that was in TOkyo. THen I had a dream that my friends stole a red convertible, with me, and then he turned into Ferris Beuler. Two days later my bro's girl, put on Ferris Beulers day off. Pretty boring pre-cog but I found it interesting nonetheless. I find pre-cog in dreams to be common but to vague of a tool to actauly use. I never know what part of my dream's is pre-cog and what isnt.

The phenomenon is easily explained by the Law Of Large Numbers.

Something that happens extremely rarely in a small population happens very often in a large population. Combine that with the well documented cognitive phenomenon of confirmation bias (we notice hits more often than misses to confirm our favorite beliefs) and it isn't really that "paranormal anymore.

If I dream I have a car crash or I see a car crash on a street corner, I will avoid that corner at all costs the following day. I have gotten used to doing or not doing things depending on my dreams. But it has gotten to the point that my mind knows I will react the following day depending on what it presents to me so maybe it puts things in my head to get me to do things and then when I run into those things the following day I feel I have predicted the future.

I have had things happen in my dreams, and real life, that tell me there is more to our minds than what most people believe. But for most things that feel like predicting the future it usually can be explained by looking at the number of dreams I have and the number of things I do and putting it down to coincedence. Still... I need to prove it is more.

First of all yes it is a divine gift!! But we all have this gift and others like it available to us. We just aren't in touch with how to access and interpret the information coming in from our "other" senses. But some people are naturals at precognition. And yes it's the same as being psychic!! The term psychic has been blown WAY out of proportion. Being psychic simply means that your are more adept at receiving information through other senses then the standard ones. It doesn't mean that you're always right. Just like when you feel panic it doesn't always mean something bad is going to happen. Psi senses work much the same way. There is a huge misconception that psychics must be right all the time or they are fakes. Most people only know sight, sound, touch, and taste. Because that is what society has taught us exists. To deny everything else only closes you off to the possibilities. Do you think there would actually be so many scientific names and descriptions of these different abilities if they don't exist?? Why would the government be funding remote viewing, and E.S.P. testing if they didn't believe and have hopes of using it in the field??

Please don't let society or fear dictate your beliefs. If you've researched something and truly come to the conclusion of the "skeptic" than that is wonderful!! Because it's TRULY your belief. You've come to your own conclusion after reading/researching everything out there. It's not a belief based on ignorance or the relying on someone elses opinion.

I didn't mean to offend or upset anyone. I just wanted to clear up a very sad misconception.

yeah, i've had dreams that go way beyond dejavu.. I suppose everyone has it, but they gotta be in tune to when stuff will happen. When you are young, it is much easier, because you believe in more, but however you can keep it up as you get older.

Now i'm not sayin i can predict the future, but once in awile i just know. Sometimes years before an event will occour.

I was going to post a topic about this also. This has been happening to me since i was about five, and i have a story about September 10, 2001. No one believes me, so i decided to post it on here.

I went to bed, not thinking of anything in particular, but then i started to dream. In my dream, i just saw a picture from different angles, reappearing over and over. It was a picture of broken, burnt, metal in a huge pile. I couldn't see any of my surroundings, and i didn't think much of it. But when i woke up, i didn't feel well. So i asked my mom if i could stay home from school. She let me stay (which is very rare). I was flicking channels, then saw a helicopter cam. I saw the plane whip around into the tower. Then about 5 hours later, i saw the rubble. It was exactly how the picture was in my dream.

Only steel, and nobody around. I freaked out, and haven't told many people until now.

Something like this actually happened to me last night!!! I was watching the olympics (all the countries comeing into the stadium to make their entrance). Well, I was having a good time and wasnt having a problem until I saw the olympic torch. As it was rising into the air I had a bad feeling in my gut, but I didnt know what to think. I didnt know if it was going to break or fall, and nothing like that happened, so when the whole thing was over I just went back to my computer for a few more hours. But of course, strangely enough, the news comes on and said that the torch went out! I was incredibly weirded out, as precognitive "feelings" are something I usually dont expect.

Otherwise, I can usually sense bad or negative feelings out of people. It looks like we have a lot of people on here who experiance similar things though huh?

Humans, Posess a 6th sense, you just don't know it, you have the capabilitys, you just need to be guided on how to get its full potential, like me, i can see auras, i can sense good or bad in people, but i'm not tk (telekenetic) i sometimes see the future in my dreams.. its a 6th sense, i've done research. and i'm damned postive about it. And TK (Telekenetic) is real, Government has E.S.P. testing facilitys, which proves humans have the potential to awaken there 6th sense.

So true. The sensing good and bad people is omething i can do, only, the seeing Auras part im still working at.

And as for the government facilities working in that feild, I wouldn't be surprised. There was a team that was formed by the government years ago called MJ12. It was a classified group of the world's 12 best scientists made for one purpose: to be the representetives for the human race as they stayed in contact with the EBE's (Extraterrestrial Biological Entities, or aliens). We made an agreement with them so that they would share their anti-grav technollogy with us.

That's the only reason they shut down area 51 for two years in the 70's, the the U.S. government could build a huge underground facility in order to house the much more notticable saucer craft. Its also the only reason why satelite photos have never caught a photo of a Saucer craft on the surface. Yeah yeah, i know im going off the subject here.

The thing that struck me was that the EBEs were reported of comunicating telepathically with the human scientists. I know this probably sounds like alot of bullshit, but why else would there be government documents even containing this info about MJ12? This team isn't very well known, but its still all over the web none-the-less.

Since these other EBE's have most likely been around soooo much longer than us, i'll bet its probable that they have mastered the whole concept of this. Thats also the reason they have the research facilities for this, because the Gov. knows it exists and also wants the secret
