Thread: has anyone seen THE WHITE LIGHT ?

My father saw the white light after death. He actually died as the result of a heart attack and was quickly revived by the EMS, thank goodness. Within the light, he saw my deceased sister and uncle. They told my father to go back. And he did just that My father is an honest man and would never lie about something like this, so I believe his experience was genuine. Now, what I don't know is whether this was a paranormal event (another reality beyond death) or just the residiual activity of his brain after death.

I'm not too familiar with OBEs, but it is interesting that you see a white light during your experiences. May I ask, how do you know that you're actually outside of your body? Also, is the white light the only strange thing that you see during your OBEs? It's an interesting subject.

I had one occasion where I NEARLY succeeded WILD at night. Right before I fell asleep I suddenly consciously noticed a very bright white light in front of me. The kind that is unbelievable to percieve knowing that it is a product of your Mind and not physical light, but certainly just as real.

I tried to "enter" the light by moving forward into it hoping I would consciously end up in a Dream. When I tried this I felt a terrifying sensation of falling down backwards 80km/hour. I moved back out of the light to take a break cuz it was just too intense. Repeated this 4 more times and eventually fell asleep unconscious.

Why when you die and see a white light you always see relatives etc? Is it always our last thought before we pass and the Neurons go on working, or is it as real as they say? lots of people are changed, lots also say they talked to god or whatever and after that point started helping people as much as they can...like someone told them too. I just don't get it...people seem to have changed drastically after their expierence.

i know im out of my body because i feel myself rising up and weightless, and my mind told me so as it was happening,i cant see anything im in total darkness, untill the light comes, ive not as yet seen anything else in the light, but the last one i had last week was the most intense,and to be honest,in the pit of my minds memory im sure there was a figure with me,and i was having a conversation,but thats so deep i cant fully remember.why this is happening to me i dont know,but its so real.i always dream and remember every night,this is somthing else.ive had the odd lucid dream,and like i said before i had one after going into the light,i ended up in a kind of big garden on a sunny day, walked around for a bit then next thing i know im in room with nothing but a door,go through the door,and theres another empty room with a door and so on.....till i end up falling back through the light,seeing strange shapes and colours on the way, and that was that..now like i said i dream every night, but that one was so so so so real. maybe that was reality and this is the dream, who knows, i believe some of us our minds are more open to these doors of time and space or whatever it is...i dunno i just work as a builder

Cant say I have, but all this white light stuff, do you not think it might be a case of people saying thats what you see, so therefore you 'think' you see it when you have a near death experience?

Well i saw the white light but then i was on MJ and vodka and beer and was really messed up Finally when i was relatively ok i just dropped on the bed a friend prepared for me and then the white light came and took me away. In the morning i opened my eyes and just thought "ok im alive ". Then my friend told me he thought i was going to die. That it is. But for me was interesting why the white light? Usually is coming the black light Hmm. Anyway.

I have seen it quite a few times. every time it has been during hypnagogic imagery. It's a very fascinating thing to see. It's hard to describe, It's not like any kind of normal light you would see in the waking world. It has an intense pure quality to it. And it is so bright. But it is not uncomfortable to look at. I love seeing it. I wish it would happen more often.

I have actually seen the White Light many times. Usually as a result of a high plateau DXM experience.

It's immensely hard to describe...but I'll try. At a certain point when my trip would plateau, eyes closed...I would be surrounded and full of the whitest, purest, brightest light. It's brighter than anything you can imagine, but doesn't hurt to look at. It fills you with warmth, understanding, truth, and love. The moment I am surrounded in the white light I feel complete and total happiness, love, peace, and knowledge that everything is perfectly as it should be, that I was silly to ever doubt that I was so utterly alone, that none of us is ever alone and that the pure white light is with us always...like a lantern or candle or flame that is hovering over top of us and showering us with the whiteness and connectedness of all living things.

It's not only during the trips that I experience the white light...but also for days afterwards, I feel and know and can even see myself surrounded in the white light. It's as though everywhere I go, there is a bright light...a few feet above and behind my head, so that it shines on me so brightly, and shines onto the path before me, the direction that I am going. Soon, it becomes easy to forget...but I know that the white light is always with me...as it is with every person. And I think you'll all get to see it someday and wonder HOW you ever could have doubted it.

At one point, I experienced the white light so intensely that I thought I had actually accidentally killed myself (I've had similar experiences a few other times but this was the one with so much intensity that I'll never ever forget it). I really thought that I had died...but I didn't care...because not only was I surrounded in white light...brighter than ever...and full of it...but it was so wonderful and beautiful that I thought my body would literally explode like a bright white firework. Like it was pouring from every cell in my body. I realized I was still alive at this point, all five of my senses were completely and totally flooded with happiness, joy, and love...and for a while I laid in my bed feeling as though I was going to burst with white light, touch, taste, smell, hear, sight...all overwhelmed with utter happiness. It was something I had never experienced or felt before, and for a moment I thought I had felt a sixth sense. But then I realized that it wasn't a sixth sense, but rather the complete and total fulfillment of all five of my senses. And in this state...I just knew. Everything...I just knew. So I named this Knowing. And now I refer to the white light, as Knowing. There is nothing more powerful or more beautiful or stronger in the entire world. Even love pales in comparison to complete Knowing.

I only wish it wasn't so easy to forget...

Well allthough my experience with the white light was not due to a Near Death experience (not that I am aware of ) but at the borderline of sleep I can tell you one thing:

What I saw a bright white light. Not otherwise describabl;e. Just like someone in complete darkness had just switched on a construction-lamp through deep mist. But more equally spread light, like a bright plane with depth. There's little left to interpretation. Just a very bright white light.

Besides: Sleep and Death have alot in common: In terms of what happens to consciousness and perception. Every night I fall asleep i feel a little like dying somehow.

Yeah and people say it's just chemicals in your body? if true imagine once we get to that stage always being able to feel it? i've never expierienced that before but i have expierienced something 2 times i've never felt...happiest i have ever been, could not stop smiling nomatter what, felt like i was the luckiest man in the universe. Of course it went away but great feeling and out of the blue. Wish i could expierience what you went through. Makes it hard to believe people who say it's all chemicals untill they expierience it then change their minds.

The white light is only an effect on the brain given by another chemical. When i was about nine, I almost choked on an ice cube to death (yes, i know, pathetic ) but i did not see a white light. My vision failed, my senses, shot, no ability to think. I may of not reached the state to the point of this chemical releasing on my brain, but i still believe its just an effect on the brain.....that could represent something very rea.

You were having an OBE, possibly even an astral projection. It sounds to me like you were projecting using your brow chakra (your third eye). With this type of projection you usually end up somewhere on the astral planes... di you have a strange feeling in your forhead at the time of projection?

cant remember feeling anything in my forhead, but ive had a few similar experiences since, i thought i was travelling through a tunnel in space , and ive looked up astral projection which i think ive had...im hoping it happens again, and that i can explore somewhere,other than just this space tunnel.

You might have entered a tube-type astral entrance structure (basically you left out of one of your higher chakras directly into the astral planes).

interesting stuff..these astral planes though, where are they, in space?? cos i was seeing some sort of galaxies wiz past, and all in color. i mean it was so real, how could my mind have just made up this stuff, and it always feels like theres someone with me controlling it .
