Post I had an OBE earlier today...

I just Had an OBE today.

Almost died, because part of it was when I was awake.
(I have to breathe when I'm awake, so my time was limited)

This Means The answer to Whether or not I should be Christian, after all these years of Agnosticism, is No.

      Let me elaborate,

      I was dreaming like normal,

I was having a very elaborate Lucid dream,

      then I woke up.

four seconds later the "object" appeared on the ceiling (the "object" is usually a person or thing you fear, but in this case, it was a person's head that looked eerily similar to Beetleguise, Because I had already diminished my last fear. Maybe this is what Jacques [Pronounced Jack Wes] looked like. Jacques is a Psych, and a "Dog" (I'm not even sure what DOG means just yet))

I struggled to fight it back, my soul was repeatedly flying towards The "Object",

Just then, when I was about to give in and die, I heard a voice.
Telling someone about her Daughter, and how she taught her never to give up, or some other corny thing along the lines of that.

anyway, this gave me (Pride???) encouragement, and just when my lungs couldn't go without air for another second, I was on the brink of death, I fought it.

      and won.
      the "object" disappeared

I didn't wake up, for I was already awake when I started it.

I fear this might Just be preparation for a bigger one though,

or just a light slap for trying to think about being Christian.

      I can't believe I'm saying this, but...

      Moonie was wrong.

or maybe jacques just wants me to think there is no god.

I don't really understand how this is an OBE =/. Especially if this is your first. Most people project to the real-time zone first. No matter what plane you project to though, you should at least have a moving body.

to me it could have been 3 things, you had some sort of obe, you were hallucinating possibly early stages of a schitso, or you were in fact still dreaming.

      firstly, my body was moving,

secondly, this is by no means my first OBE.

I don't mean to be rude, but very little of your post made much sense. First off, I don't feel that this was an OBE of any sort. Second of all, in an OBE, your soul does not leave the body. Third, how do you know you were dying? The "object" you were reffering to is known as the dweller on the threshold and does not actually exist. It is an illusion that you see because of bilocation of the body and shifting consciousness, and happens upon exit.

Fourth, when you stop breathing for exessive periods of time, you don't die, you pass out, then you die. If you were dying, you wouldn't have been aware of it.

In the EXTREMELY unlikely event that this was an OBE, and on top of that in the incredibly rediculously unlikely event that something attacked you upon exit, I still doubt something would attack you because you're thinking about being a Christian. That notion is quite far fetched.

Beings, negs, and all other entities could not have known you were thinking about becoming Christian. Negs don't just attack people straight up like that, and when they do, it almost always happens while you're NOT out of body.

This was a dream, nothing more. A very creepy dream, and one that should be paid close attention to, perhaps, but a dream nontheless.

How did you enter this OOBE?
What did you practice to get into this condition?

Didn't you just fall asleep like WILD?
Also: sometimes when the mind awakens and finds the body is still asleep this can account for very terrifying experiences of getting no air and the presence of an evil being often called Old Hag. I'm not rendering your experience meaningless; infact I believe you but I suspect you interpret OOBE as something different than WILD which as far as I understand is pretty much the same being attained through pretty much the same practice.

No, you are mistaken. OBE's are quite different. You achieve them in a similar way to how you achieve a WILD, but they are an entirely different experience than a lucid dream.

Like I said- dweller on the threshold. It's an illusion. I believe this was a dream, not an OBE.

wow, Something similar happened to me except it was when inducing an OBE i ended up in a sleep paralysis. I now hold a very powerful thought that can induce an SP on anyone but you need concentration. and it's very simple too. Anyways i got paralized 3 times in a single night. 2 of then were induced by me and one was coming out of a nightmare. I was almost waking up and suddenly this guy from the dream world grabs on to me and holds me pretty tight. I then endup paralized and still feel this dude from the dream still holding me tight arround the waists..Im definetly going on another shot tonight and see what happens next. Also, i saw a creepy character wearing some type of clothes that pretty much looked like death. to bad i couldn't see much under a sleep mask that i pretty much struggled to take off.. mr.faded_glory don't fear it and don't fight things like that ok. Just observe if it happens again. Remember that they can't harm you....Im definetly inducing paraliziz tonight to pretty much see unsusual things anyways good luck. Things like this are not to be fear of but instead give it mind.

....That had nothing to do with anything that was said. This thread has gone incredibly off-topic.

An OBE is an out of body experience. It is the separation from the astral/etheric energy body from the physical body, which is projected onto one of 8 planes of existence. It's concept is debated as to whether or not it is real, because of the lack of SCIENTIFIC proof. Many people on here have experienced them, but there are many people that are too closed-minded to even consider the existence of an OBE because of the lack of 'evidence'.

Unfortunately there are also many people who assume every weird experience they have is OBE related, and generally it isn't. Or people who believe they understand the nature of OBEs and will mistakenly distribute inaccurate information, which can be confusing.

I hope that answered your question sufficiently.

      Well actually last night I had quite an amazing pre-sleep experience of Old Hag. In many aspects it's very much alike your experience. I see many similairities, so tell me Faded Glory and Rainman;

Read the last dream I've entered in my DreamJournal, specifically the part before the 1st Dream begins where I describe Old hag visiting me, and tell me if you see any similairities and possible connections between our experiences.

Have you read my encounter with old Hag last night? And did it sound familiar to you?

In my interpretation I had only parially fallen asleep, cuz when I broke free of it's grip I briefly awoke and performed an RC that proved I was awake. Maybe what you interpret as OOBE is what I interpret as a particulair condition while attemtping WILD where you partially fall asleep and dream, while actually having the notion you're pretty much awake and still very aware of your physical enviroment.

Allthough I believe that I myself was parially in the dreamworld I do now understand why you interpret it so differently from WILD. Because it is, only I believe that this Being that seemed to have entered from the dreamworld into the physical world next to my bed was a "Partial Dream" rather then a Dream Entity/spirit actually entering the physical world to attack me. Nevertheless this being/spirit was very real as all experiences I dream.

I believe that I was in a strange state of Mind where I was able to percieve both Physical AND dreamstate-perceptions which lead to Dreamworld and Waking Reality intermixing. I was in 2 states of Mind at the same time is how I interpretted that experience.

Does the experience, appart from my interpretation, sound similair though?

      no, because

A: I never actually awoke from said dream,
it was after I woke up from a previous dream that Jacques (the "old Hag") appeared on my ceiling.

B: I felt the gut dropping feeling when it was drawing me closer to it,
a feeling which your mind cannot simulate, even if you are crazy, you'd have to have an adrenaline problem (which is chronic, so I would still have it)

that and the fact that I have the red marks and bruises.

C: as opposed to being in a "magical far off land" I was in my own home, lying exactly where I fell asleep.

and finally I never awoke from the Dream, the entity simply vanished and I got up and walked around.

5 minutes later I went on here and posted this topic.
