As requested by Nightmare I'll post in a nutshell my main OBE experiences in this forum... in fact I'm surprised I hadn't already. Before anyone makes assumptions I currently believe that OBEs are just a hallucination and type of dream. I do think there is something special about them though because they ARE really strange.

I first started looking up about OBEs at the beginning of this year, and understandably it started with "cool, I'll try that!". The very first time I tried (just by lying on a bed, concentrating on high pitched noise etc.) I got really, really strong vibrations and although I wasn't really scared (just in awe ) I didn't OBE because my heart rate rocketed. It never happened again in this way, but the fact of "ah, so it IS real!" got me hooked.

This April however, and in this month only I had a series of spontaneous OBEs in the middle of the night and early morning. The first time I presumably woke up in SP, though I never had time to check. For no apparent reason I imagined the song "we are the greatest" from Scooter in my head (no idea why specifically) and I got even stronger vibrations. I wasn't scared because I knew exactly what was happening to me. They literally lifted me from my bed and into a vertical position by the side of it. When I opened my eyes I looked around to see if I could see my body but there was a "no smoking" sign and two paint buckets on the bed instead. I explored my house and tried to teleport to my friends house by closing my eyes and commanding it, but when I opened them I woke up.

In the rest of the OBEs I got vibrations too, but I often had to "tear" myself out after them. I never saw my body but I did learn to fly before I ever did in a lucid dream. One thing that may intrigue some is contact with another character. On the main road of my town there was a lot of traffic and a black man in a suit who looked about 40 years old or so was signalling to someone in one of the stationary cars. I remember he noticed and looked at me with a WTF expression.

However, I had to use a key to open a window to fly out of it and there has never been so much traffic on that road in history. Apart from that and of course the things on my bed my OBEs were realistic. The sun was even in the right position in the sky, something I never consciously pay attention to. In one OBE that collapsed into a normal dream I and my family were attacked by stuffed "Agumon" beanies in broad daylight when I was OBEing in the early morning; as a result I do not believe I went to another realm or anything.

I just see them as lucid dreams that start in your bedroom; seeing as you don't lose consciousness so you expect to be there even if you start dreaming. I often find that if I think something will happen in a dream it often does, so this is the same idea. But whether or not everyone thinks this these were OBEs and I did have them. Well, seeing as OBEs are a largely unknown topic there's not much point in making distinct classifications just yet.

I'll post my most interesting OBE and SP experiences separate because I still want people to have the will to read these!
