Well put, and very true, kinda makes you think dont it? |

HOw do you know waking life isnt just a shared dream with 6 billion people? The only difference is that one person out of 6 billion people perceiving the same things has very little influence on reality. Whereas in a dream you are the only person perceiving it so you have total control over it. |

Because we don't awaken from this 'shared dream' therefore how can it be a dream? |
|
Because when I'm awake... I'm awake... And when I'm dreaming... I'm dreaming... With tons of DMT flowing through me. |
|
I think adams got it, and if it were a dream, why dont reality checks fail? |
|
because 6 billion people say electricity works and 6 billion people say you need air to breath... anyways you could talk about this forever and have good points for either claim... i just like the fact that questions like this are still around and very much unanswerable in spite of all that science and religion has to offer... |

I agree with you there. I think about these kind of things very often. They can get very deep sometimes, and very aggrevating other times. Also, sometimes it seems like you know the truth to life! |
|
i would say that if you figure it out you may get a chance at freedom, but if you live and die as any other normal person your awareness will just return to the source and you will eventually do it again as something else... |

I can't really explain farther because I haven't died yet. Even then it will be a little hard unless I am a ghost or something and can talk to you, lol. Mainly I was saying if you die, and God indeed exists, you will be able to find out the answers to the universe and life (hypothetically). Or, if God doesn't exist, then you probably won't have a "soul" that lives on, so you basically just won't exist anymore as a conscious. Your only remains would be the energy you left behind (which was already there) and your rotting carcass |
|
i take it back you could never figure out this universe it is infinitely mysterious, wonderous, inconceivable and so on... but if you are traveling in the dark you dont need to see your destination to reach it you only need to see a few feet in front of you with your headlights... |

the truth is impossible to put into words its knowledge without words.... |

I have to admit you posted a losing arguement. And yes we do not wake up from this state so therefore it is not really feasible that we are dreaming. |
|
its not a losing arguement its called a paradox.... you can't prove that you never wake up from this |

Here here... indeed, often enough one can only experience, understand and know, but not explain. I guess it has to do with the fact that the world communicates with us through symbols; language and thoughts are nothing but attempts to describe and define these symbols. I guess that's nothing new, but it's just something I've been thinking about lately. |
|
Well say brotha. I've been thinking about the EXACT same stuff lately. Kinda weird, were on the same wavelength. |
|
its a mushroom cloud from an atomic bomb except i put a real mushroom where the cloud was hehe |

i think i was trying to say mushrooms are the answer and not atomic bombs but who knows maybe its a mushroom lifting off to space too... one thing i must say though is it seems a bit more than a coincidence that mankinds most destructive force creates a perfect picture of a shroom in the sky |

I've thought of this time after time, never thought about it as a shared dream that just doesn't make much sense, and it's way to hard to explain why it doesn't, I always get the idea that I'm the only person in existence who actually owns a conscious, with the ability to have subjective experiences and my brain is just making people exactly like me, but still diffrent to make me feel less lonely. |

oh PLEASE people stop making posts like this. For the record, life is NOT JUST ONE BIG SHARED DREAM! I don't feel that I even need to give reasons as to why I think that... It's common sense and only logical |
|
what is life then? |

Thats easy, life is your own subjective experience, and sharing that with others. |

It is, thats not my point I wasn't trying to disprove your point, in fact I actually strongly agreeing with your point that dreams are life too, I was making the point that by saying this life is all a big dream, is not that much more amazing then looking at it as it apears to us, and all the most likely queer nature of reality. |
