      dont believe in shared dreams??

HOw do you know waking life isnt just a shared dream with 6 billion people? The only difference is that one person out of 6 billion people perceiving the same things has very little influence on reality. Whereas in a dream you are the only person perceiving it so you have total control over it.

      just something to ponder....

Because we don't awaken from this 'shared dream' therefore how can it be a dream?

Because when I'm awake... I'm awake... And when I'm dreaming... I'm dreaming... With tons of DMT flowing through me.

But I'm sure every single person in the world has thought of this once. It's like a thought 5 year olds have. Definately possible, but no way to prove it.

I like your amanita mushroom avatar.

because 6 billion people say electricity works and 6 billion people say you need air to breath... anyways you could talk about this forever and have good points for either claim... i just like the fact that questions like this are still around and very much unanswerable in spite of all that science and religion has to offer...

I agree with you there. I think about these kind of things very often. They can get very deep sometimes, and very aggrevating other times. Also, sometimes it seems like you know the truth to life!

... Then you forgot what you were thinking about, lol.

These questions will never be answered until you die. You will either figure everything out, or figure out nothing at all. Figuring out nothing at all meaning you just cease to exist in any form.

Hmm... now that's an intriguing thought. Care to explain a little further?

i would say that if you figure it out you may get a chance at freedom, but if you live and die as any other normal person your awareness will just return to the source and you will eventually do it again as something else...

I can't really explain farther because I haven't died yet. Even then it will be a little hard unless I am a ghost or something and can talk to you, lol. Mainly I was saying if you die, and God indeed exists, you will be able to find out the answers to the universe and life (hypothetically). Or, if God doesn't exist, then you probably won't have a "soul" that lives on, so you basically just won't exist anymore as a conscious. Your only remains would be the energy you left behind (which was already there) and your rotting carcass

Perhaps even w/o a God, you could still have a "soul" after you die, also. It's just impossible to know until you die. Well, at least humans won't know anytime soon that is.

I imagine death will be like it was before I was born. Not too bad...

This could also be possible. But, if you figure it out, how would you know that you figured it out? Unless you died.

i take it back you could never figure out this universe it is infinitely mysterious, wonderous, inconceivable and so on... but if you are traveling in the dark you dont need to see your destination to reach it you only need to see a few feet in front of you with your headlights...

I have to admit you posted a losing arguement. And yes we do not wake up from this state so therefore it is not really feasible that we are dreaming.

Here here... indeed, often enough one can only experience, understand and know, but not explain. I guess it has to do with the fact that the world communicates with us through symbols; language and thoughts are nothing but attempts to describe and define these symbols. I guess that's nothing new, but it's just something I've been thinking about lately.

Wow, what a life though... too bad so many people have forgotten how to be in total awe from time to time. Because... when you sit down and think about it for just a moment, it's all so unbelievable and suddenly everything seems unimportant and silly. But try explaining that to your lecturers and people who're constantly trying to push you down And when you think about it some more: you don't have to, just enjoy your own experience of the Universe and try to find people who are like you.

      Whatever

Paradoxical questions are just asking for a beat down though. Is that a fly agaric mushroom lifting off in your avatar? Hahaha.

i think i was trying to say mushrooms are the answer and not atomic bombs but who knows maybe its a mushroom lifting off to space too... one thing i must say though is it seems a bit more than a coincidence that mankinds most destructive force creates a perfect picture of a shroom in the sky

I've thought of this time after time, never thought about it as a shared dream that just doesn't make much sense, and it's way to hard to explain why it doesn't, I always get the idea that I'm the only person in existence who actually owns a conscious, with the ability to have subjective experiences and my brain is just making people exactly like me, but still diffrent to make me feel less lonely.

It's kind of weird when you think about it, all you could be figments of my imagenation and I could be a figment of your own, but only I know for sure reather or not your world is subjective, but ofcourse you couldn't trust anyone because they all might be part of that very reality.

Ok I lied it's not to hard to explain why the whole shared dreaming doesn't make sense, because well, whats the diffrents between a dream that cannot be changed (and you can't be woken up from) and the real world, if it takes place inside our heads, matter is made out of atoms which arn't really anything but there like electrons so there just vibrations, there really isn't much awe in saying it's all a dream, it might as well be when you look at the amazing things out there, dreams are just a diffrent way of looking at it.

oh PLEASE people stop making posts like this. For the record, life is NOT JUST ONE BIG SHARED DREAM! I don't feel that I even need to give reasons as to why I think that... It's common sense and only logical

It is, thats not my point I wasn't trying to disprove your point, in fact I actually strongly agreeing with your point that dreams are life too, I was making the point that by saying this life is all a big dream, is not that much more amazing then looking at it as it apears to us, and all the most likely queer nature of reality.
