Controlling the Weather with my mind

I was at a Dave Matthew's concert yesterday night and there was a humongous storm brewing up. The rain was pooring down fast and hard. It kind of freaked me out because I had this dream where I was in a similar area, though I didn't know it at the time, and a huge storm started with tornadoes everywhere. I had heard this show earlier on T.V with a guy preaching. He said he was on a cruise and it had been dark and raining for the entire time. So he decided to go out on the deck and then he shouted, "In the name of Jesus LET the SUn Come OUT!" and he said that fifteen minutes later, the clouds parted and the sun came out and it was sunny for the rest of the day... so I decided to try it out. My friend, who is also in to "mind things," and I started meditating next to eachother to make the storm go away, and it was gray everywhere. So we envisioned the storm breaking apart. I told the elements there force was greatly appreciated but to please let us enjoy this concert and strike down another time. at first nothing was happening so we sort of were like,,"oh whatever we can't do anything... but then the sun came out, almost all the clouds were gone, and a RAINBOW appeared in the sky. pretty awesome. now it could've been the collectiveness of the crowd also... there minds wishing the storm away, but I've also been to another large concert where it rained horribly but I didn't try anything and it just kept goin. hhmmm?

I am in Texas right now getting BRUTAL medical treatment. I was really depressed on Thanksgiving of last year, because I have been sick for so many thanksgivings and wanted to be home. I really wanted some kind of a good sign from the universe that everything would be ok, and I wanted snow, to remind me of home. So anyway, about two days before thanksgiving, this lady was saying how it was supposed to rain a lot the next couple days. I was like, “no, I want it to snow!” She said how the weather guy had said rain, and not snow, but I said that he always says it’s going to snow, and it doesn’t, so maybe it could work the other way just this once. Then I did a little “snow dance” and wished REALLY hard for it to snow. And on Thanksgiving… The most snow in Dallas since 1986 (oddly, the year of my birth). I went around telling everyone that I made it snow… they looked at me kinda weird, but I’m in a wheelchair (temporarily), so I can do whatever I want and people just assume I’m retarded. My dad was like “GOD made it snow”, but my brother believed me. Or said he did just to placate me, I don’t know. But anyway, I thought I’d add my weather control story. It seemed only appropriate given the name of the thread. :0)

Does the word 'coincidence' mean anything to anybody anymore? Weather is predicted fairly accurately, if it was determined by the will of the people, then the weather channel would be complete crap.

seems alot like a coincidence to me... nice idea though! but imagine everyone could do that - we would have all kinds of weather all year round!

well, even if i am naive or idealistic or something, it seemed like a sign that everything was going to be ok during a near-suicidal time in my life, so i don't care if it was a coincidence or not. i'm sure i didn't MAKE it snow, but it just seemed like a sign at a time when i really need one. so don't be an asshole

Will is an interesting thin in this place, theres many other thoughts and ideas out there that conflict with our own, that among other things is why its so difficult to do a thing so simple in a dream, such as levitating a pen but is so difficult to do here, there is alot of people out there that dont think you can levitate that pen, Unfortunatly it kinda drounds one out, also the crap we have been taught in school and by modern society instills doubt in ourseves which can be the greatest limiter of our abilities. Weather prediction has gotten better but it is still very much luck of the draw, the system is incredibly complex in which weather is formed and moves about. It seems very chaotic when you think about it, im sure we will learn more how weather works in the coming years but there are still just too many variables.... Its odd, did you know that sometimes when you boil water, for a brief instant though the small bubbles near the heat source before the water breaks into full boil align into geometric cells? There is a point where something just right happens and order can be found. The human mind is a powerful thing... it has given names and put order to much of the chaos around us and created things from absolute nothingness, that is some real power there. Sure it could be coincidence... but given how highly improbable controlling the weather might sound sometimes that little nudge happens and a little bit of order is instilled into that chaos and something happens that you would not normaly expect. Oy another thing that lucid dreaing taught me is that Preception defines reality, not the other way around, science is starting to prove this as well. So for some it was a coincidence and for some it was not.

I believe in mind powers. It seems that God gave us control over the animals in the beginning, but once we needed to be able to protect ourselves from the wilderness, God gave us our MINDS. Some may think of this as just being smarter than the animals and having the ability to develope newer and better technology. But what if you think of it as that he gave us a different power in our minds...... Food for thought.

I used to try to control the weather all the time. It seemed to work pretty well at the time. Usually it was a matter of keeping rain at bay long enough for me to get indoors. At the time I had a basically pantheistic outlook, employing a personal god/higher-plane expression of myself to intercede in large, complex systems for me. I was also doing a lot of aura manipulation and directing the movement of energy through my chakras. That was my "pagan period," much more New-Agey than any of my current practices, but I still use some of the tricks I learned then, and I suspect some of my non-corporeal friends from that time are still near at hand.
