      Post Astral Projection- Explained

Hey everyone, I just thought I'd share my views on Astral Projection and make a small attempt to dodge any controversy

Firstly I'd like to apologise for my very bad lie- this isn't THE explanation of Astral Projection, it's one opinion, and whether you choose to believe it is your complete own decision.

And now I'd like to explain-

Many people are understandably skeptical about AP, mainly because it seems like an impossible thing to do; concerning with the idea of separating from your body, and crossing a threshold which has never existed before in your life until someone tells you about it, is a difficuly concept to grasp.

From the perspective of a person who feels they are intimate with their sublime- I'm going to explain to you what I believe AP is; trying not to be too hard to understand and nothing which is seemingly-unrealistic.

I have always been a person of strong belief in science, I believe in genetics and evolution, no God or creator. I believe in fate, not destiny. The way everything in the world has not been "written" like a script, but everything is linked and cognitive, and if there was someone who could see everything, they could predict the future.
Achieving a projection is your first big step to becoming THAT person.

"They" say you use less than 50% of your brain's power; your subconcious uses it all. When you open your eyes to a busy street of bustling people, of different races, beliefs and personalities, you capture a numb aknowledgement of that scene; your subconcious captures it all- with the information your eye has provided, your subconcious will map out everything it can- people, their skin, eye and hair colour, the way they walk, possibly even the way they think and what they desire if there's enough information for it to work with.

When I AP, I refuse to adamantly accept the idea that I have projected myself into another place; I choose to understand that I have not crossed the threshold between body and universe, but the barrier between a concious and subconcious mind.

"Tapping into" your subconcious, would be an easy way to put it, in order to prompt it with a scenario- a household which is two blocks away from yours, you see a situation which goes on in that house during your AP and it turns out that it actually happened.
From experiencing it so clearly, hearing, smelling and seeing everything that goes on, so much that it felt completely realistic- is it possible that you or maybe just a part of you was actually there, or just all inside your head? I believe THIS is the power your sublime.
If you can receive a clear and realistic answer from your subconious- the chances are it could very well be true.
If your mind can understand the relationships, personalities, past experiences and general properties of the people in that household, it could very well map out various actions and reactions those people could take, and in turn, manifest them into the most likely situation, which if you are determined enough- you could attempt to "tap into" your subconcious and see it for yourself.

I do not wish to disagree with anyone elses take on AP, nor am I saying that I am right, I am simply sharing my beliefs and opinions with the community.

I appreciate and look forward to any replies when I wake up tomorrow
Whether it's your own opinion or whether you agree or disagree with me, it would be great to hear from everyone
Thank you very much for reading.

      Jim.

      Hi Jim,

I really enjoyed reading that post. I think it offers a good perspective on your perception of the differences between the conscious and sub-conscious mind. Even though I am very skeptical of AP, I thought that you provided a well though out, insightful point of view. This is the type of discussion I love to hear on DV.

Now! To my own contribution to this plot.

I think that it may in fact be possible to tap into a small portion of your sub-conscious mind. I also believe that the mind is an incredibly powerful thing. However, I would not say that your subconscious, by simply knowing people and viewing their actions, is able to predict their future actions based on a super-computer-like deduction of the highest probability possibilities. I think that, in the conscious mind, it is possible to know a person very well, and guess what they might do in some hypothetical situation. This is different, in my mind, from viewing a situation involving multiple people, places or other variables, and use your subconscious knowledge to predict the event.

It is one thing to say "Oh, Jerry is kind of a jerk carnivore who hates the idea of God, that blind date with the Orthodox Christian vegan will probably not go too well." and it is quite another to say "I think that he will order a 1998 Chardonnay and the prime rib, while she will order a pom-tini and a lettuce wedge, and they will talk first about the origins of 20th century American philosophy" I think that is the difference between knowing friends well and predicting the future.

      All the best,

      Mortalis

      Jimmeh.

      I love you.

How the hell did you come up with that? I've had that theory myself for a few months, and it goes quite well with my extreme anti-dogmatism.

(what I do, i read ALL the magical systems etc. and the amazing things you can use them for, then see what they have in common, so i remove all the bullshit/unnecessary fluff, and work with what's left. A nice analogy I made is digging through shit to find the gems =]

      THIS IS SCIENCE! )

So basically I just use the hugely underestimated power of the subconscious mind to explain "super"natural things.

For me they are literally super natural. I get them several times a day, at the very least.

They also work in the long term, i.e. predictions or what I'm now starting to regard as "manifestations" (i hate using words from the stupid systems because everyone with any common sense left skips the sentence).

Anyway, thanks for the thread, and I'm very glad to see people finally taking the supernatural seriously.

I love you more WaterSquirrel (L)

And yeah I know what you mean, I get those sort of "premonition" things daily. The wierdest time was waking up lying on my mates spare bed at an angle after a night of madness, and the first thought that came into my head as I was waking was that my girlfriend had been at a party and had cheated on me after getting drunk. (I had not known that she had gone to a party, the thought just wouldn't leave my head) After about an hour of being up and awake the fear just wouldn't leave me (I'd had these "premonition" things before and they had turned out to be true so I was pretty worried). Eventually I went on msn upstairs and spoke to her, I instantly asked her what she had done the night before, and she replied with "Why?".
At that point I knew that I was going to hear the worst news of my life so far.

But on the upside, I realised that since APing and LDing, I had aqquired a deeper connection with my subconcious and could maybe try and practice this kind of "psychic" tool I'd experienced on such a detailed level.

Which I did, and still do. I can't stop myself from trying to figure out things about people, which is a very difficult thing to do at my own accord And it normally happens when I'm not thinking about anything at all. I walked into my college baseroom a couple months ago and a girl who I'd hardly spoke to was just sitting down looking out the window, and immediately after I entered, I just got a really strong and unusual feeling and straight away just said to her- "...Did something awkward happen the other day?"
She looked to me with a startled face and replied "What do you mean?"
And at the moment I was thinking, "That made no sense at all. What am I doing? I sound like an idiot.", but for some reason, I carried on and said "Was just wondering, it felt like you were feeling a bit awkward with something in here."
I was relieved to see her with a suspicious face and hear her say "How do you--...."
And I replied with "Ohh, I know what it is." and grinned. Straight away she said "Nono!! If you do know then please don't say it!"

Turned out she'd got with another guy on my course the other night when she was drunk.
Too bad I can't think of these sorts of things when I want to

Haha, thanks for your reply man It's great to hear that you share the same opinion as me
