      Mental connection through dreams

Hello, I just joined this forum and wanted to start off by sharing my strange experiences that have brought me here. (I also have been a lucid dreamer for some time, but that's not what exactly brought me here).

Here is the experience that opened my mind to the possibilities:
During the summers I work on a small commercial salmon boat in Alaska. The quarters are extremely tight and I spend huge amounts of time in a very small space with the same people. About midway through last summer, the other deckhand, named Cole, and I started having accidental shared dreams: it started with him dreaming of getting sucked into a black hole. He was struggling and fighting it, but finally decided to give in and accept it. Right when he made that decision in his dreaming mind, I woke from a deep sleep shouting at the top of my lungs "Cole, no! Don't do it!" It shocked us both, and similar events happened from time to time.

I have recently met a woman and we quickly became very close. After a couple weeks together, she left the state for the holidays. Once she was gone, strange things began happening in my sleep. I would wake up and reach for my phone several seconds before it rang with a call from her. I would wake up with the sudden realization that she had sent me an email saying specific things, and when I checked in the morning, sure enough it was there. Strangest of all I one time woke in the middle of the night feeling like my body was shaking with this energy (it actually wasn't shaking, but felt like it was) and I just knew she was having an orgasm (hopefully self-induced haha).

This all sounds a bit out there to me, so I was wondering if any of you have had similar experiences with a lover or close friend...??

      Steve

Yep, I've had them Though not with anyone that close. When I am with someone I try to keep my dreams sheltered and walled off just on the off chance she could reach me, or I'd slip over into her dreams as I tend to dream about things to dark, or too personal for anyone but me.

So about when I have connected.

Once I connected with a boy of...say fifteen, in Africa. If I look at a map I could point to the exact spot he was living in. Just a few miles north, and west of Lake Rukwa. When we connected we didn't share images per say but I knew everything about him, and he knew about me. It was the strangest, and delightful, experiences I've had. When I woke up I was still faintly connected to him and we both knew the other was real.
Later the same thing happened with a girl of 17, somewhere near Patan of India. Actually I've connected with her on more than one occasion, but it's always the same, we just know everything about the other.

Your experiences with this significant other sound more like a precognitive state than most anything else. Sure you could be connected to her more than she might be you. Have you asked her if she's dreamed about you in one way or another?
I'm not like most of the world, and I don't care. I didn't ever have Heros. I had ideals. Belief's about how things should be, how I should live my life. My hair reaches below my middle back, piercings and tattoo's about my beliefs abound. The essence of who I am makes me a wild thing, even among the radicals and social rebels, and I don't care what the world thinks. But I wonder if I'm too wild for my one wave...

Thanks for the reply, some amazing stuff in there. And yes, I've talked to her about this and it does seem to be a one way thing at this point. I'm thinking that perhaps having conditioned my mind for lucid dreaming over the past couple years has made this sort of thing possible for me, although she is just beginning to keep a dream journal and explore these sort of things, so we'll see...
