      Shared Dreaming Networking

Technology is a fascinating thing. It is constantly evolving, and breaking new ground. Who could have thought 30 years ago that the Internet would be what it is today? So, for the premise of this thread, assume that technology has limitless reach.

The brain works at measurable frequencies. Scientists already are linking certain frequencies to specific patterns, such as words or sounds. Soon enough, we shall be able to see thoughts, even dreams. I forget where I read it, but they are already working on a machine that is able to read dreams. Like it or not, science is coming closer to reading your mind.

So, for not science is only focused on reading minds. We, as Lucid Dreamers, are always disappointed when we wake up and aren't able to share the amazing experience with others. To your significant other, the experience of flying you had last night means nothing, because they couldn't be there. Yes, you obviously saw where I was going with this. What if technology allowed us to share our dreams. Not over the Astral Plane, but over a LAN.

I predict that in the future, we shall be able to not only read thoughts, but project them over a network, to share with others.

So. Do you think this is possible? Would you be willing to do this? Should this be allowed to happen? Technology is going this way, so we will have to discuss this eventually.
      Hmm....doesn't seem right....
Was that a dancing banana? A dancing muffin? I'm forgetting something.....oh yeah!
      REALITY CHECK

Please fill out my survey, I'm trying to determine if there are any specific characteristics that aid in LDing. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=72416

This seems like it would be possible. We already are able to control a mosue pointer with our mind alone. Its amazing, saw a T.Vs show on the discovery channel about it. So why not read the brain waves in our dreams? All we would need to do is read it, turn it indo data, and send it over to someone else and let their machine or w.e interept the data and boom its a mmo in your dreams haha. This could also be bad.. comercials or hacking your braint o give you nightmares or worse...
From every time we meet, to every time we part, i will add another memory to my shattered heart, and for every dream we chase, another memory will take its place, so we can remember it one day.

I thought about technologhy being able to read our minds... I reinsure myself that that can't happen. Too complix. Then they have video games that can read ur mind on wheter to go fowrd or back wards and what not. But theya not a complicated thought... I always thought that even though I relized that less than a century ago things that are now common were viewed as impossible as reading minds...

I once attended one of Stephen LaBerge's workshops where eventually he started talking about "shared lucid dream" experiences. As we know from his research at Stanford he was able to communicate with dreamers as they dreamed by electronically detecting concsious movements in the eyes of dreamers reacting to stimuli during REM and subsequently prove that lucid dreaming was a reality.

I didn't initially buy into his talk about being able to share dreams but I don't discount the possibility of that occurring. LaBerge wasn't able to prove that shared Lucid Dreams occurred but he had the testing devices to detect it should it occur via pre-arranged eye signals from his dream subjects.

That would be pretty cool if 2 people could share a lucid dream. It would obviously have to involve some extra-sensory transfer of information from mind "A" to mind "B" but I guess that's possible. Justme's right about technology being a potential contributing factor too. They've already found a way to "read" someone's mind (very primitive experiment) via computer. If that output from the mind of one lucid dreamer could somehow be channeled into the mind of another lucid dreamer perhaps lucid dream communication could occur. If that ever becomes possible the only hurdle that I see is advancing the science of lucid dream induction to such a state that on any give night two individuals can at will induce lucid dreams at a pre-determined time. I sure can't LD on demand but maybe one day I will.

Hmm true the technology just isnt there yet, but thats what we said 20 years ago about the computer.. look at where it is now. One problem may be that it's jsut Lucid Dreaming isn't largely known or accepted by many people so it may take a long time for people to even learn about Lding, even longer to make a device to do what we want to do. Share Dreams..
