      Sleep Paralysis - something different?

Ok...firstly FUCK! Accidentally closed the tab before I posted...serves me right for having 12 tabs opened I guess

In Chinese culture, sleep paralysis is widely known as "鬼壓身/鬼压身" (pinyin: guǐ yā shēn) or "鬼壓床/鬼压床" (pinyin: guǐ yā chuáng), which literally translate into "ghost pressing on body" or "ghost pressing on bed." The modern scientific term, however, is "夢魘/梦魇" (pinyin: mèng yǎn); notice that the character "魘/魇" (pinyin: yǎn) is composed of "厭/厌" (pinyin: yàn), "to detest", and "鬼" (pinyin: guǐ), "ghost, demon".

Paragraphs 1 and 3 are about 'paranormal sleep paralysis'.

After my grandma died when I was a kid, my mum started getting sleep paralysis a lot, except that she said that she saw the shadow of my grandma actually pressing on her. It felt like there was actually someone on her and she couldn't breathe. I was told the to get out of this, you had to say the prayer (Buddhist). This gradually went away after she had one of those shrines/altar set up for my grandma and prayed everyday..

A few years ago my uncle died in hospital because I think it was wrong blood transfusion (he was having problems with his kidneys as well). That night, my cousin (8 at the time) and her mom slept in his bed and in the middle of the night she woke up crying and saying that he was playing around with her (no not 'that', the more accurate translation would be 'joking' around) and there was a shadow of him on the wall.

Next night, they're too scared to sleep there anymore so my other uncle sleeps in the bed. He experiences what my mom experienced but he actually hears my dead uncle say 'why are you sleeping in my bed?' in a threatening way (rough translation). And apparently, he 'got free' after saying the prayer several times (this prayer in Buddhism is probably the equivalent to the Our Father from what I know). The monks and stuff do some stuff the next day cause his spirit was restless

Few weeks later, me, my cousins and my mom go upstairs. She falls asleep, we go downstairs and when she comes down (this is around midday) she's pretty nervous and says she saw someone up there and thinks it was my dead uncle. After confirming that no one went up after we left, she's sure it was him (she saw 'him' after waking up but went back to sleep, maybe it could have been a dream perhaps).

My gramps died 2 years ago, one night, the guy that was watching over the coffin falls asleep and he sees my gramps. He's told some numbers, next morning he goes out and gets a lottery ticket, and with those numbers, he wins big (not big big)

Regarding the first 3, I'm not sure what to believe so that's why I decided to post it here and see what you guys think...

Oh and sorry for the profanity at the start...I was pretty pissed

To be quite honest, when my grandma died, my dad said he heard her say she was okay, so did my aunt. Same goes for my mom's aunt.

I don't think that has anything to do with SP though.
if you can read this then you are about to be punched
