Question Why do I always end up in the RTZ?

Whenever I have a lucid dream using the WILD method why do I always end up in the RTZ?

I don't lucid dream that often and I'm one of those unlucky people that have to work at it to get results but when I do I always find myself in the RTZ, normally in my bedroom either stuck to the ceiling or the side of my bed and it takes lots of energy to get myself moving which normally leads to me coming around to full waking consciousness. The times I have been able to stay fully lucid long enough I've managed to take a good look around and everything is exactly as it is normally i.e. my room is identical with the bed, mirror, desk, wardrobe, etc, etc. all in the same place and looking the same. The only difference is the dullness of it all, but saying though, it is always night time so it makes sense for it to be dark.

Anyway, I'm just wondering, why do I always end up in the RTZ and not some other higher plane?

I always tell myself to remember the next time I go lucid to shout out a place name such as the Moon, but I never seem to remember as I'm always too excited just to be lucid

      What's your thoughts on this?

Excuse me for asking, but what is the RTZ?

I've never heard of such thing as "the RTZ". And what higher planes are you talking about?

I stumbled upon lucid dreaming through astral projection and OBE. However, I found astral projection rather tricky and after only ever having two OBE's after months of practicing I decided to focus more on lucid dreaming (thinking it would be easier if I'm being honest). The RTZ (real-time zone) is where I always find myself when I lucid dream. Maybe all the focus on astral projection is sticking with me when I go lucid, who knows? Maybe I'm astral projecting? I don't know, hence why I asked lol.

I've just done quite a bit of searching here at DV's and found many of you don't really believe in OBE's so this is why you guys have probably never heard of it, either that or you haven't ever looked into OBE/astral projection...

Maybe this thread ought to be moved to the Beyond Lucid Dreaming forum? Sorry Mods!

well, from what you said about your dreams, they sound incredibly mundane? I've never really heard of the real time zone before, actually, I don't think i've ever had a dream where the scene is an exact replicate of the real deal. For you to have such an incredibly realistic dream world is really unfortunate. I can't imagine how difficult that would be!

Lol These are just my lucid dreams/astral projection experiences, NOT my normal dreams. I haven't had that many of these lucid experiences and those I have had have been very short and I haven't had that much control over them (something I'm working on), but the experience in itself has been amazing. Yes, its been a total replicate of my waking world, what I classified as the RTZ (whether you believe in that is another matter) but to be able to walk through my bedroom wall and through my mirror, etc. and to tell myself to turn around and see my own body lying on the bed has been very satisfying and exciting and is far from "unfortunate" lol.
As many of us budding lucid dreamers know, to have any kind of control over a dream and to become totally lucid is an amazing experience, whether that experience is in our own bedroom or on a desert island somewhere really doesn't matter (well not to me anyway) the main thing is being lucid and having the control

As for my normal dreams, well that's another story all together

Dreams form around what you have your attention focused on. Usually most people experience HI as they fall asleep and the dream forms around the last image you saw in your HI.

In your WILDing attempts, I'm guessing you didn't go through the HI stage, so the dream built off of the last thing you were aware of. Being in bed in your room.

It's not an OBE or anything like that, and this topic really has no business being in beyond dreaming. But the ignorant fucktards around here make no effort to understand anything and keep dumping stuff like this in this sub section.

No, I can't remember any HI. I normally hear loads of weird, loud noises (or what appear to sound loud) and then a split second of blackness or nothing (it's hard to explain) and then I'm lucid.

Heck knows where this thread should really be I'm new so haven't got a clue

Actually, hearing stuff is still the hypnagogic stage, but the auditory ones don't have the influence the visual one have.

You can try experimenting with it by visualizing or thinking about certain places to see where you end up. But with nothing else to seed the dream, it defaults to your room, house or yard.

Oh wow, I didn't know that. I always thought I just didn't get HI and that I was the strange one for hearing noises Everyone talks about seeing this HI, but me nothing apart from weird sounds and lots of people talking. Well at least I get something lol
