      When i try to astral project

      i have tried this so many times, and i think i get to a certain point, but i cant go any further. my favorite technique is the rope technique. i image myself climbiing the rope, and right away, this feeling in my body overpowers me. i can feel my body moving rapidly from side to side, not in a rocking motion, but more of, like, a swivel motion, like my body is on an axis, and it spins back and forth. it switches directions, from side to side and up and down to diagonal. i can get to this stage fine, but i can never get past it, and i dont know what to do. i either twitch, or for some reason, once i really start feeling it, i stop breathing sort of. does anyone have any pointers?

      The evening hangs beneath the moon, a silver thread on darkened dune.
      With closing eyes and resting head; I know that sleep is coming soon.

      Upon my pillow, safe in bed,
      A thousand pictures fill my head,

      I cannot sleep , my mids aflight;
      and yet my limbs seems made of lead.

      Interesting. Well the first effect you are feeling is the "pull" exerted on you astral body produced by the exit technique of course. The rope technique is also my favorite and i have had great succes with it, so i undertand specificly what you mean by it being intense. From what you have explained it looks as if you are not fare enough in a trance, since so much force is exerted on the astral body to mike it quiver but not actualy dis locate. Twitching is rather normal you shoudnt really worry about it, it is usualy caused for myself atleast by to much internal focus from the exit technique which made me unconciously start the action with my body. This is fixed by lighter focus, on a side note most of my astral projections happend when i did a exist technique for about 20 minutes then fell asleep, i would awaken what seemed like seconds after falling asleep in the vibrational state. At that point i "peel" myself out of my body then go about my plans. Hope this has helped
      We ourselves are not an illusory part of Reality; rather are we Reality itself illusorily conceived.

      How strange, I've had that exact same feeling of not being able to breathe also. However, I was told on another forum that it's actually the feeling of your heart chakra pounding which gives the feeling of not being able to breathe. Whether that's true or not, I don't know? It feels very real though.
      I used to get to this stage too, my whole body would be vibrating and I'd feel like my body was spinning and then up and down and then start spinning again. The feeling of not being able to breathe would always halt my attempt and if I'd concentrate on slowing my breathing down it would stop the vibrations and the spinning and it would ruin the attempt all together. I only ever went OOB a couple of times and then moved on to lucid dreaming as it's easier in some ways than astral projection.

      I wish you luck!
