Hello dreamfans. I've been having recurring dreams of one person my whole life (my earliest memory of telling someone about this is roughly 6-7 years old...I'm now 23). I've tried lucid dreaming but can't control when I see this person, and until now I've never seen their face.
I'll share the most recent dreams I've had. If you want to get straight to point, you need only read the end of the post.
This one happened about 4 months ago. I found myself in a literal "dream land." Others like me who were sleeping around the world were in a mansion, and I was wandering it's corridors, albeit slightly confused as to how I got there (heh, as if I made a wrong turn). Enough time has passed since I had the dream (not to mention I forgot it even happened until today) that I dont remember all of it. I remember having a lovely conversation with a girl and lot of exploring. At one point everything began fading to white. I knew I was waking up and tried to "hold on just a while longer." I recall asking a lot of folks if they'd seen that girl who I heard was looking for me. All but one man said no. The one who replied "Yes" told me that she said; "I'm glad I finally got to meet him." I frantically began looking for her but to no avail. Everything went black. I new what that blackness was. Eyelids. I hardly had time to open my eyes again before I thought "I've got to go back!" and dove right into sleep. I couldn't find my way back. I was standing in a similar area, but this was obviously an imitation, sculpted from my memories of the recent experience. Like going to the ocean and then dreaming about it...but wishing for the real deal. It wasn't alive.
Then last night I had an unusual dream. I was inside another building. There were lots of doors down a long hallway. Stark white color, but didn't have a hospital feel you might associate with it. I was pursuing a person down this long stretch who had this leisurly half-skip thing going on as they strode along, stopping periodically and bending at the knees briefly to contruct some sort of trap. Unsure as to why this person was causing mischief I continued to chase them while calling out "stop! hey!" Of course, this person was either deaf or ignoring me as they turned sharply at the corner of another hallway branching off of this path we were on. I followed suit to find her sitting on the ground nearby, leaning the corner of her head against the wall. I asked about the traps. She sincerely apologized and told me they were harmless, and that she was essentially attracting my attention so we could meet. She said something along the lines of "I want to be around you." I noticed some words written on the floor next to her, small enough that I had to crouch down next to her to read them. I spoke them out loud. I can't quite remember what we were saying but it's about 5AM as I write this...so I'll try tomorrow. She looked surprised, even cheerful as she replied "really?" I noticed that these words I'd read were my versed thoughts. Things started to fade-white again soon after that and as usual I struggled to "hang on a little while longer."
Last night I dreamt about her again. After waking up the first thing I realized was I could still remember her. She wasn't a blur anymore. It stirred in me the memories I'd forgotten...like the dream 4 months before, which feels more like an actual memory.
Now for the idea produced by all of this; has anyone heard of a method to find the identity of a person you've dreamt about, or if you can call them into your dream?
I can't explain it but I feel as though on some plane this person exists.
