      Further, non-dream related development?

Has anyone noticed that as they develop lucid dream skill, other, daytime, or non-dreaming, skills develop....like, side effects? I'm not lucid yet, so I'm just curious for those that are. In theory this is another skill of will power that, I would think, would use more of the mind than usual; therefore, other developments in that area of gray matter should also develop...or not.
      Thank you for your time,

      From Yew to you...

I wouldn't say skills, but I've read in a variety of places that as your lucid dreaming improves, your ability to deal with waking reality improves. For example, you might deal better with stress, or keep things in proportion when they are adverse, more like improvements in attitude or disposition than skills, but beneficial side effects none the less.

Personally, I've been much calmer & less stressed since applying myself to dreaming. I took on an engine repair that I would have previously considered beyond my ability. I didn't gain any mechanical skills from dreaming, but was able to go about the work without stressing the entire time, or doubting myself. I RTFM and did the work, and it was a success.

Well it has been proven that dreams are very important in one's life, and that they can be some sort of outlet for the unconscious mind to fulfill his innermost desires. By gaining control of one's dreams not only does one gain a different perspective on life and reality, but he also gets to fulfill several fantasies consciously and directly, which I am sure also has a positive effect on oneself. I think, like everying else, lucid dreaming is an experience and as such it also builds character amongst other things, that will reflect positively in our life. The way I see it, taking control of your dreams will help you take control of your life....
      If I hadn't made me
I'd be more inclined to bow
Powers that be would have swallowed me up
But that's more than I can allow...
