As a skeptical fellow, I would say it's a coincidence. However, it is a very interesting coincidence and it sounds like a great story to tell at parties . |

Ok, this is the first time where I felt I needed to post something on a forum for dreams, I've had my share of weird dreams, but this one was imO extraordinary, the Friday before mothers day I had a vivid dream. I found myself walking out of a house and ended up outside in q alley I think, but facing my childhood home (the rear) the backdoor was open so I guess I walked up the stairs (don't remember how I got in) but I find myself going through pictures in the back room of my old home, I cannot for the life of me what pictures but I knew they had to be of my family, because I had misplaced a stack that I wanted in the dream and was angry that I could not find them. Then in my dream I knew my mother had passed but I had the overwhelming feeling that she was alive and I wanted to call her... Strange I know. So mothers day comes. And with that a text from my brother (which he never ever does) of 5 pictures of my mother grandmother and great-grandmother, and a couple others. That were all taken on that very back porch.... This was the strangest gift, dream I have ever had, please experts help me understand what happened? Was it a mere coincidence? |

Agreed. It's just coincidence IMO; I've had so-called precognitive dreams before (like a tsunami dream a few days before the Japan incidence) but nevertheless I'm still skeptical. It is scientifically impossible to be able to predict the future. According to Newtonian physics, yes, if you could know the position and velocity of every particle in the universe at any given moment you could accurately predict all of their interactions for the rest of time. (This assumes future events are predetermined). However, quantum mechanics blows that out of the water. Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle states that it is impossible to look at a sub-atomic particle and know both where it is and where it's going at the same time. The more accurately you fix its position, the more uncertain you make its velocity and vice versa. |

There's a difference between having a dream that has very vivid details, writing them down, and then the next day you experience that event, and "thinking about a blimp" and seeing a blimp. |

Not a coincidence, this has happened to me countless times to the point of not explaneable! |

Think about something with enough repetition and with enough desire, and you attract it to you. Your dream was confirmation that you would receive the items you were seeking. |
