      watching yourself falling asleep

Has anyone ever tried letting there body fall asleep well just keeping awareness. I did this a few times and ended up in a black void As soon as I get there I can do anything usally I pick to have a lucid dream i just pick a place I wanna be and Im there. This time I decided to try and astral project because I havent ever done it and I realy wanted to. So I focused on my chakra realy hard until I felt extremly numb. I focused on rolling out of my body It only took a seconed, and I rolled out of my body and on to my astral belly I was blind for a few seconds I struggled to see my body to make sure I wasent still in it I opened my astral eyes and sure enoughe it was still sleeping. for some reason I rolled back in but managed to get back out it was not easy to move I had to do every thing by willing it to happen I tried to get up and stand I fell a few times. once I fell so that my foot bended up twords my head like a dog does when they lay on there stomachs. Soon after using at least 4 of my legs and 6 of my arms I stood up every thing was in slow motion. I started hallucinating and lost consciences but I did get a good look at my room and noticed a nail in the wall that I saw.

It always seems that when your out of your body you tend to hallucinate more. I beleive all dreams in rem are actually obes but your mind changes your state. alot of times you will experience a jerk or a pull on your body when you try to fall asleep like this but the key is to resist it by completly forgeting about the body altogether. this works best with the WBTB method Just about any lucid dream technique will work for astral projecting aswell.

I wanna be the very best
      Like no one ever was
To lucid dream is my real test
To control them is my cause

We all know that kaniaz. You certainly feel a need to post that on every single topic relating to OOBE. Just because you never had an OOBE does not mean they do not exist. When you have one, you can tell me they don't exist. Although, if you did, you would probably not be sure what to believe anymore. I believe that astral projection is all in one's own mind. I do not consider astral projection and OOBE to be the same thing. When I talk about OOBE, I am referring to physically leaving your body. Since it is almost impossible to prove this, I won't argue with you... much. The only way you can believe that they do exist is if you have one. So, good luck for you I hope. I would love to see you be able to experience this.

"Has anyone ever tried letting there body fall asleep well just keeping awareness." Well, this would be astral projection. I've done this on occasion. One thing I do find strange is that for astral projection, you do have to sort of pull yourself out of your body, even though you are not really going anywhere. It is different than an OOBE, but you still have to do the same thing. Now it is much easier to pull yourself out in an AP, but I don't know if it is actually needed.

I thought that was pretty much the description of a WILD.

It's harder than that. I have actually tried to OBE (I wouldn't bother arguing about something I haven't even tried once or twice), and I just sat there. Doing nothing. Staring. Perhaps I'm just a bit lazy or hard at concentrating/relaxing, but it still could simply be an LD. There's just too many things for me to go "experience one" and see that as solid proof.

Learning to OBE is a combination of motivation, consistency, and small steps.

The first time I conciously projected my body I was not restrained by my previous inabilities, and succeeded. But the next time I tried I was let down, and the next, and the next. It must be worked at, every day. You cannot waver from this. Although, I am one to talk, I've been meaning to really work at it, and have been letting entertainment and my own laziness get in the way...

Well, kaniaz, let me tell you that is by far one of the most difficult things you can attempt. Also, with the best time being the period during the time your body is paralized right before you wake up, you are even more unlikely to have the chance to attempt it. At least how often would you remember something like this while finding yourself paralized? This does not happen that often. You can also do this through meditation, but you would have to be very advanced in meditation. Before leaving your body, you have to be completely detatched from it. You won't feel, see, hear anything. After that, it takes a tremendous amount of will just to pull yourself out. There is a very strong force that tries to hold you in.

Well, we all make our own definitions. It is only when the majority of people agree on it that it becomes the recognized definition. From what I have read and experienced, that is what I understand it to be. Also, I should note that a WILD is a "waking induced lucid dream". I did this in the middle of the day. It could be compared to a MILD or even be the same. I just think an astral projection is much more than a lucid dream. Once you have experienced one you will understand. It is unlike anything else you have experienced. I could almost call it heaven.

Once you stumble into that blissful state of existence it suddenly hits you like a brick: my concioussness can exist independently of the body. It's just an inherent fact that registers in the brain that's pretty much indescribable in words.
