      Unknowingly sharing dreams

First post here, but this dream has been knocking me off balance all week. Not in a bad way, not in a good way.

The other night, my boyfriend and I had a very vivid dream. (My boyfriend RARELY remembers his dreams.) I'm going to go ahead and explain the dream, then the conversation the next morning.

We exit an elevator on to a dark, dimly lit floor of what seems to be a high rise, although there are no windows. Everything was black marble and steel appliances with an orange glow. A tall woman/nurse walked us down an alley of rooms, all either massage tables, spa chairs, what looks to be tanning beds and a couple in-ground spas. She brings us to one of the rooms with what looks to be a double tanning bed (a tanning bed, but the size of a full size mattress.) We look closer at the bed as she's talking. It was more of a chamber than a tanning bed.

She's telling (more like showing. No words, but we knew what they meant. Like interpretive dancing or something) us that we will go into this chamber together and starts describing it to us. She explains that we will lay in the chamber together on our backs as we "connect and become one." She explains that we will share the same thoughts, feelings, tastes, smells, etc... That our bodies will become one (ie If I have to go to the bathroom, he does too.) and form one being so we could have the highest relaxation. We looked at each other and started throwing our concerns/disbelief at her. She opens the chamber and a rush of orange light fills the room. She then urged us to step into the chamber and lay down, she'll explain the rest of the process. We laid down, but still gave each other skeptical looks.

She tells us to lay on our backs and focus on the screen above us. "Try to think blank." The lid closes and right in front of our faces (seeming to be our only vision) and a blue LCD screen lights up. It started scrolling through various images, like a circle, square, X, etc. The images were large and white and when "selected/the center image" they would shine green, indicating that that was the same shape my partner saw. The images went faster and faster 'til there was a click. The screens went off and the orange glowing light turned deep blue. I was no longer laying on my back, but on my side in the spooning position. I felt like... ultimate comfort. No joint pains, no awkward positions... then I thought about my partner! I felt like he was behind me and was going to say something until I realized that we were both sleeping. Our bodies had merged into one physical entity. We could not communicate in words, only emotions. The next hour or so, I kept feeling waves of comfort, love, happiness.

Around 6am, (in real life) I woke up to him looking at me smiling. We locked eyes and went back to sleep. Later on that day, once we were fully awake, I told him "Hey, so I had this pretty interesting dream last night. We went to this place to sleep in this chamber together and-" then he cuts me off and says "Wait. The orange and blue place, right?" My jaw dropped. I stammered out a "y-y-yeah." I asked how he guessed that and he just asked me to keep explaining the dream. I was telling him about walking down the hall and seeing all the rooms w/ the spa stuff. He added on "wait.. I thought those were surgeons rooms! That's why when the woman told us we'd become one, I got scared and apprehensive." I asked if he remembered what happened next. He said that he remembered "watching something on the TV's. They were flashing green to brainwash us. I remember X's and O's." He kept confirming what I said about the dream. He said that he felt like he was on drugs all night because he slept so well. He then asked me "how long were you awake this morning before I woke up?" I asked him "I don't know, I woke up to you smiling at me." He said he had just opened his eyes meaning that we must have opened our eyes at the same time.

How? Why? Interpretation? We are both pretty big skeptics, but this freaked the both of us out. Any input would be amazing!

I can't answer how, because, nobody knows if shared dreaming is possible. There are some that don't believe in it and those that do like me for instance, personally, I think you just act your dreams out in another plane thus the possibility of having a shared dream, although, there is no proof of this. Why? Well, not really sure either As for the interpretation, there isn't one, other than you both shared a dream together. Sorry I can't be much more help

How? If I told you, I'd have to kill you. Just kidding. People unintentionally share dreams all the time. Even people from other sides of the world. If you wake up with someone, and talk about your dreams, then it's more likely you are able to confirm it as opposed to someone you never met before in waking life. You two are obviously close, so that increases the chance of sharing a dream.

It probably happened because you both wanted it to, at a subconscious level.

The place you went to is a real place, on the dream plane, and the woman you spoke to is a real person.

There is no interpretation necessary, since this was not a manifestation of a mind, but a place you actually went to together.

There is nothing to be freaked out about. You two are just mutants.

What a beautiful dream! I am going to take my girlfriend to that place.
