can i find something in my dreams?

so. last night i had a dream that involved me finding something i had lost a couple weeks ago. I don't remember where i found it or if the place is even real. however, it got me thinking. and i was wondering if it is even possible to discover where something 'lost' is when you become lucid. If this would ever translate into reality and help you find what you have lost... it seems a little absurd to me, but could it be possible? has it been done before? anybody have any experience with this?
I wander through the woods listening to the sound of nature. The sky turns red and opens before me. I realize that I must be dreaming... My adventure has just begun.

It doesn't seem absurd in the slightest. I dont have any experience, but there's two possibilities, you could have an out of body experience, and look for it, or you could just ask where it is in your dream. It wouldn't be very far fetched if you found it easier to remember where it was when you lost it while you dreamed.

Only problem is defining which of those two happened. That's a good idea though, I'll see if I can find my phone charger tonight

Yes it is, since dreams are in the subconscious, and so is permanent memory.
I have seen hypnosis used with a pendulum being held in the subject's hand.
And for example, the movements of the pendulum(subconsciously being moved) with an assigned movement, like Yes - Left to right, No - Up to down.
And he questioned him. And they answers were accurate. The hypnotist said it works for lost items as well but you have to be VERY careful when it comes to what you say, the subconscious does take everything "BEYOND" Literal.

so if i'm in a lucid dream and i am talking to my subconscious. I can ask myself where it is and... MAYBE get an answer? all this is beyond my skill level at the moment, but still a compelling idea.

It'll probably only work if you yourself know somewhere deep down where you lost it... maybe you weren't paying attention at the time, but as long as your brain took note of it then the location should be tucked away somewhere in that gray gloop that we call a brain, and you might be able to coax it out of your subconscious in a dream.

      Sounds perfectly plausible to me.
