I keep a paper and pencil dream journal. I've made it my goal to type up all of the entries. I edit them for coherence and grammar, as my writing doesn't usually make that much sense first thing in the morning. I've got several months worth of entries to type up, with new entries every day. It always feels like I'm playing catch up. Maybe, one of these years, I'll win?

    1. Dream Control Won't Work Here

I'm playing dance dance revolution, and I'm trying to get people to play with me, possibly in competition. The competition somehow shifts to actual fighting, One Piece style. More than one of the Shichibukai are involved (they aren't the same ones as in One Piece though). I'm trying to survive, although I'm not that strong a fighter. At one point I fight a cockatrice with a sword. The cockatrice is 1.5 times as tall as me, and about as wide as it is tall. Even though I avoid looking at its eyes, it manages to stun me with its gaze attack. I don't turn to stone, though. Eventually I shake it off. The Shichibukai watching me makes snarky comments because I didn't completely avoid the gaze attack. I vaguely remember something about him switching sides in a flashback because he was paid with a large emerald, and that was more than the previous guy was paying him. Also, there's some sort of royal/powerful person involved in all this, possibly a vampire.

I'm in my room at my old house, and somehow I figure out I'm dreaming. It seems so real, though. I try putting my hand through the door, but it's solid. I open the door. It leads directly to my mom's room, instead of the hall. Ok, definitely dreaming. I remember the other dream I had where I was at my old house, and I had a very difficult time manipulating the dream (I was trying the trick of opening a door and having it lead to whatever place I want to go, and it just would not work), so I decide to leave this place.

I go out through the garage (there is some sort of church service in here?) and into the backyard. I keep noticing how real this dream seems (though, as I'm actually writing this, I'm just remembering thinking this, and I've forgotten all the little details that made it seem so real). I'm on the porch in the backyard, but I'm barefoot. I need shoes. I tell myself there will be shoes behind me. I turn around. Nothing. Well of course not, I would never leave my shoes on the porch. I go inside and fetch my shoes and quickly put them on. Now I can venture past the porch. The gap between the two parallel fences on the left is much larger than in real life. A white and brown dog-thing standing on its hind legs that is 1.5 times as tall as a man comes at me through the gap in the fence, barking. Instead of getting scared, I decide to get aggressive and take a swing at it. What happened next is a bit fuzzy, but the dog thing is gone. I wish I could have a sword--I'd feel a lot safer--but I don't seem to be able to make one appear here (I think slightly later on, I manage to make a sword appear, but it is there and not there at the same time, or maybe I am just imagining holding a sword. The details are fuzzy). I head out the gate.

I'm walking along the streets outside my old house, now. I need to get away from this place. As I'm walking, suddenly the street before me collapses as lava comes up through the ground. Ah, the old running-from-lava dream. I turn and run. The lava is right behind me. Like a true protagonist, I keep jumping ahead at exactly the last instant before the ground I was standing on collapses into the lava, even though I'm running as fast as I can. At one intersection (corridor?), I know I should go right (I don't know how I know), and I go left instead. It's a dead end. I backtrack as fast as I can. I run and run.

Somewhere in all that running, I forget that it's a dream. I run into a weird ghetto place. There are buildings made of chain link fence, even the roof. I'm running on top of one.

I stop at some point. A lady wants me to try a soup or discuss recipes or something. I say I always use a particular thing for soup. She has it, on the shelves, among the labeled bottles mixed in with books. She prefers a mix of all the things. I know these things had names in the dream, but I can't remember them.

Afterwards, I'm trying to use a public restroom, but there's too many people and no privacy. There's two toilets and one sink in the open in this room, and one toilet and sink in the adjacent room, but the door is broken and won't stay closed. A person in there asks if I'll hold the door closed for her, if she'll do the same for me. I heartily agree and comply. I'm holding the door shut, with my back to it. I smell something odd. What is she doing in there, smoking? Another person is smoking in the main restroom area. I hate this place.
    2. The Secret Room

I'm playing Sonic the Hedgehog II. I know I used to be able to do the first level in about 15 seconds, but its taking forever.

I'm working for this guy. There's a baby I'm trying to protect. The government would kill it if they found it. There are two others working for the guy, one male, one female. The room(s) we're in is quite crowded. I am male, dressed in black, and I think I have a sword. The setting is medieval.

I go out looking for a new place. I find someone who tells me there's a good, hidden room above the gate, but for some reason its not available. Then he shows me a small house that has a secret basement. There are three hidden entrances: a grate just outside the house, a hidden trapdoor in the bedroom, and a secret panel in the back of the freezer (problematic, as we have a hard time keeping the freezer clear). Behind the freezer there's a netting thing, which when moved goes to a narrow opening and then down. I take the house.

We move in and spend some time trying to make the house part look lived in, and distract from the secret room. In the bedroom, there's a bed and couch. The bedsheets are blue, so I put blue pillows on the couch to match.

Later, I'm Vaarsuvius (from The Order of the Stick), and I'm fighting Xykon, who's just decided to move into the house. I inevitably lose and run away. I'm in bad shape and collapse on the couch. Xykon follows. The secret room is discovered. The man in black comes out and attacks Xykon with a sword, but, of course, swords don't do much against a skeleton. I tell him to try smashing, rather than cutting, the skeleton. That damn goblin is there, too.

    3. Secret Passageways and Evil Dragons

There is a very strange vending machine. It has normal things like packaged food, as well as clothing on racks that are somehow attached to the machine, and other strange things. I put some coins in the machine to buy something, but the numbers indicating the amount I put in keep skipping around oddly. I get my coins back out and it's a different number of coins. I try this two or three times with similar results.

I am outside, in an area with a fence and a light brown colored building or garage. I get in a fight with someone/thing. I have a summoned creature servant thingy. It looks sort of like a large animal, and then I imbue it with some sort of blue energy. It's much larger now and has a vaguely human shape and rippling bluish stuff on its exterior. I think I at least didn't lose the fight.

I am somewhere snowy in the wilderness. A group of people are trying to take a very sick boy to a lady who can help him. The father stayed behind. He is no friend of hers. The child is accidentally left behind. I pick him up and go the rest of the way. The lady wants to know why she should help this child. I tell her he is the child of her enemy, not sure if that will help or make things worse. She might heal him just to keep him hostage.

I'm in my room. Some powder (possibly lemonade mix) got spilled on the floor and on my bed by the pillow. I try to clean it up, at least brushing the stuff off my bed, so I can sleep. I sleep in that bed at least two times while I am there.

I'm looking at the map of the world. The blue dots are fortresses. J is telling me where I ought to explore, mostly pointing at the blue dots.

I'm to leave the castle soon, for the exploration mission. I'm in my room, and I'm supposed to be packing my things. Instead I take a look around. In an alcove, there is a glass shelf sticking out of the wall a couple feet above the floor. The edge of the shelf has a gradual curve to it. Underneath the shelf is a sort of white statue (possibly of a cherub), that also looks like it might be a drawer. The bellybutton looks like it could be pushed. It's too awkward to reach under the glass shelf with my hand, so I push the button with my foot, half expecting the statue/drawer thing to slide out. Instead, a trapdoor opens beneath me, and I fall.

It's not too bad of a fall, but I can't get back up. I'm in a secret passageway. Cool. I go exploring. All the walls in this place (and probably the entire castle) are black.

I come across a sort of downwards stair made of chairs (they have green seat cushions and curved wooden backs/armrests) leading down into a huge room. The chair stair is awkward but navigable, until I come to a chair that isn't quite placed right. I don't think I can reach the next lower chair without knocking the whole thing down. I am considering going back up, but my current position is quite precarious. I lean too far forward and the whole thing comes crashing down. I fall, but I'm ok.

There are three black dragons down here, and they are neither nice nor happy about my presence. I have to fight them. I use the same summoned creature from earlier, again imbuing it with energy so that it looks like a giant furry humanoid with bluish stuff rippling on the surface. It's a good fighter and goes right after the dragons. I attack too, sword in hand. We prevail.

I hesitate to kill the smaller, younger dragon with the purple eyes, after the others are dead. What if it isn't evil, like the others? It runs away and almost makes it to some kind of portal. I summon it back with some sort of shadow bind technique. I somehow know it is evil now, and kill it.

One of the other people from the castle arrived sometime during this whole mess. She is a warrior, and she is the one who is to travel with me. She is in love with someone else at the castle.

After I get back to the main castle, I read about the adventures in a book. It's different than how it happened. I try to reconcile this.

I have to finish packing, to leave. The sleeping bag and pillow are already so bulky. How will I be able to take what I need without being excessively burdened?

This is possibly the most detail in a dream I have ever remembered and then written.

    4. The Little Moon and a WILD

I'm in some sort of underwater vehicle with others, exploring in the ocean. I remember something about a shipwreck or magic or some sort of danger.

I'm at an apartment complex. I'm discovering great music, and I don't understand the words. It's in Latin or something. I'm trying to weigh myself. I fiddle with the scale to try to get it to work. Someone comes in. I hide behind the shower curtain, using the mirror to make sure I'm hidden, but it's just A.

Some security guard types are mixing a vat of candy stuff with a pretzel stick. It's deadly? They're feeding it to the seniors. Old guy above my apartment climbs down a trapdoor to the first floor and sees people moving outside. He starts to figure out what's going on and throws a fit.

I'm in a rocket, flying dangerously. I land on a strange tiny moon. There is lots of greenery, but one section is wilted and black. It seems evil and scary. There is a path with sprinklers on one side. I attempt to walk past without getting wet and fail. The king/mother/god of all sprinklers is at the end. I get very wet.

I turn the corner. There is a very localized bit of rain. I walk through it, and something presses against me from both sides, scrubbing, cleaning. It's like a car wash. Next up is polishing. I manage to dodge past that.

Turning the next corner, I'm back in the apartment complex corridor. I go in and find the old guy and someone else lying on their backs on the floor. They won't wake up. I try to open their eyes. I'm panicking. Their eyes won't open.

After waking, I read a bit and then decided to attempt a WILD. I think I wrote the various bits down in the wrong order, but I've got no idea what the right order is.

Fragmented experiences with vivid imagery. I see rotating vistas. I experience sleep paralysis sensations, breaking through into dream without being able to move or having no body.

I'm walking around my old house wrapped in a blanket, but when I look in the hall mirror, I see a shady, indistinct figure wrapped in a blanket whose only distinguishable feature is two bright blue points of light for eyes.

I'm in a department store, but I'm incorporeal, apparently. No one can see or hear me. I decide to become a fantasy character named Simon. I draw my sword. Apparently, I'm not invisible anymore, as everyone is frightened, running and crying out. I put the sword away and walk outside the store. There is a girl with long, straight, blond hair.

I hear a female voice talking about my death, as if it would be an experiment (on the world). She wonders if I am ready for "suicide counseling."

I remember something about a cliff, falling, a brief glimpse of my grieving mother, and a scene taking place in a bathroom.
    5. I Stabbed Draco Malfoy

A rundown shack with a convenience store nearby. There is some kind of secret history. A baby the size of a couple of fingers is growing in a butter dish.

I am at my old house. I find some sort of secret space behind a broken mirror, but my flashlight isn't bright enough to explore it, so I leave, intending to come back later. I do my hair or something.

I'm in the backyard now. It's raining very heavily. There is a garden with spots for many things, but only a single cabbage and a couple other things are growing there. I am given a sheep named Jeanie. There is some sort of emergency. I call for Jeanie to come, but she won't, so I go inside without her.

In the kitchen, my brother M is explaining about our defenses, such as not having the kitchen blinds closed the wrong way so we can't see. Brigands break in. I fumble around desperately for a blade. I find a long, skinny blade with a too-small blue handle on my dresser. I clumsily block a couple of attacks by a brigand with my awkward sword and retreat into the back room. I close the door and open it again only to see Draco Malfoy attacking. I somehow manage to partially close the door at the right time so that he stabs the door instead of me and gets his sword stuck. I stab him in the shoulder. I am very proud of myself.
