    1. Helicopter WILD

      WILD + DEILD (nap)

I was in a break from sleep and I felt that I was close to SP. I tried to clear my mind for like 20 seconds and then imagined the sliding sensations. I soon felt my body sliding horizontally along the bed. I slid off and was laying on my back on the pile of stuff next to my bed.

I opened my eyes and was in my room. I decided to try and create a new scene. I didn't want to close my eyes so I tried to imagine a scene and didn't pay attention to what I was actually seeing. I thought it would be cool to pilot a helicopter so I visualized a cockpit. I start to see a small tv set with 4 player split screen on it was a heli pilot game (1st person view). It is getting closer and closer and I am trying to eventually enter the game. I start to control the bottom right screen but I can never actually pull it out of the game.

      DEILD

I decide to not go on the game route. I imagine standing next to a helicopter and a scene develops where a bunch of pilots are listening to a briefing before a mission. There is a big map and the head military guy is talking about the plan. The map isn't of anything I recognize. He mentions one area and suddenly speaks in french. He says we don't have a word for that place in English and its going to be intense. I lose the dream before the mission starts.

      WILD into DEILD chain (6-8)

***note to self: work more on tactile sensations when developing scene from WILD.

This is the 3rd night in a row of a WILD. I have not smoked or drank for about a week and a half. Every night I have been getting up around 5 (not intentionally) and been unable to fall back asleep for an hour or so. I can feel a moment of deep focus right before the transition sensations kick in. I have about a 5 to 10 second heads-up to stay aware. I can't describe it but I guess I have done enough WILDs where I can tell my body is about to fall asleep. Also, for the 3rd consecutive night the transition was the new adrenaline-lightness instead of vibrations.

This occurred at the embassy suites where I was sleeping IRL. I wasn't able to record this for awhile, also I had a very distracting and emotional morning so my recall is down to about 0. I remember recalling around 8 DEILDs, most of which fell victim to the darkness. I am working on trying to develop scenes once I feel the transition instead of opening my dream eyes and starting in my bed. Here are the 3 snippets I remember.

I remember that my previous few DEILDS failed because I started in the dark room. I tried to visualize a scene with a tree. I could start to see the outline in the darkness. I began to hear voices and they are having a conversation with each other. I believe I started to get visuals, but I was never "in" the dream, just observing some interaction.

      DEILD

I am looking to get out of the dark room. I go over to the window and it is daytime outside. I jump down a few floors to the ground. It looks like fall. I walk around and I eventually find 2 guys who look to be early 30's. They are homeless and living out of a box. I cant recall the rest

      DEILD

I go out the front door of the room. There is large arena with some people scattered about. It is indoors. I see a little Iron Giant figurine standing alone on the ground. It is about 3 ft. tall. I want to become it so I put it in front of my face and try to look through its eyes. Eventually I morph through it so I am seeing as it does, but I stay my normal size and physical appearance. I then just pretend to be a robot and pick up and throw some things.

    3. WILD into a dark bar

      6/30/12

      WILD (possible false-WILD)

notes: The sensations were very quick to arise so it may have been a false WILD. I believe that I WILDed and FAed before entering the dream.

I was laying in bed and trying to focus on the designs in my eye lids. They were forming patterns very easily. There were geometric shapes and zooming effects. I then noticed that I was hearing a very loud sound. It was rapid short pulses of trombone noises. When I focused on it, it went away and I realized it was a variation of the sound my fan was making.

I went back to observing my eyelids. The trombone sound came back almost immediately. The designs in my eyes had become male faces that I didn't recognize. I felt awkward looking at them. I began to move and got up. The room was very dark. I semi-walk and semi-crawl forward to some bar. An intimidating Mexican guy was standing behind the bar. I can barely speak, but I am trying to engage my environment to stabilize the dream. I touch the bar and it is made of cardboard. I ask him if he has Katie Morgan (I was thinking of Kate Upton) behind the bar. He said no. I asked again and he says yes and heads in the other direction. I lose the dream soon after.

    4. Nightmare Avoidance WILDs

      WILD

Notes: I didn't smoke, and I had some REM rebound. I had a nightmare about an exorcism. Every time I woke up from it, I would go back asleep into the same dream. I tried to stay awake longer and think about different things. Eventually I decided to WILD. I didn't feel any transition for any of the WILDs.

The first time I tried to WILD I missed it. I had no lapse of consciousness, but I woke up again suddenly. I noticed that my train of thought shifted back to exorcisms when I went into the dream. I used that as an RC for the next one.

I told myself that I wouldn't think of exorcisms, and then suddenly I was. I did a nose RC to confirm.I sat right up and the dream was fairly stable. I walked out my door, but woke up immediately afterward.

This cycle repeated one more time.

    5. WILD--never fully stabilized

      WILD

      Recall: good

Notes: I was staying on Sam's couch and was woken up as he was going to class in the morning. This occurred as I was falling back asleep.

I was laying on my side and I starting thinking about cool things I would want to do if I had an LD. I was thinking of The Adjustment Bureau when they opened the random door into the baseball stadium. I thought that was cool and I wanted to walk onto the field of a packed stadium. This thought got me excited and I felt very fluttery. I calmed down, but when I thought of it again, I got super excited. This isn't normal considering it isn't even THAT cool of an idea. I thought that maybe because I was so easily influenced by these thoughts, I should try to transition.

I rolled back and forth and eventually felt like I rolled enough where I should be on my face, but I wasn't. I did the nose RC. Success. I sit up and my right eye is very blurry and dark; my left is slightly blurry. I drop to the floor and stare very closely at the white carpet. It felt very real. However, my vision never fully returned. I stoop up and thought about shouting CLARITY or something. However, I had the feeling that if I spoke I would wake up (has happened before).

I look at my hands for awhile and eventually try going outside. I am walking with Sam down the stairs that lead to his apartment. He is talking about something, but it is not really registering with me. I say something quietly, and I stayed in the dream. I try to expect some glasses on my face to take off. Maybe some strange glasses or goggles are screwing with my vision. I feel on the side of my head for awhile but never feel a frame. My vision is still blurry. We walk up to a door and I open it, hoping to see a stadium. It doesn't work and I lose the dream.
