This all sounds great! I love the way you have this experiment laid out and I think you're going to like the results. Also, this'll mean I'm not the only guy talking to myself in my lucids, which will make me look more normal. Always a plus! What I really like about talking through things like this is the way it focuses your intent and your mind, removing your attention from doubt and distraction. Looking forward to seeing how this goes for you!
Thanks CL, it was certainly one to remember! I will definitely use the self talk again, perhaps come up with some predetermined phrases. I think it's important to note, (from my experience anyway), that the self talk whilst in LD is with conviction and meaning and that you really feel the words you say, I beleive this is what anchored me in so strongly this time. Next LD I'm going to say what I see with my dream voice, I will start with just one object and then move to the surroundings, I'm hoping it will lock in another layer of stability.
Cool, you posted it! Really nice LD, Kactus. I especially like the transformation of the bunch of clothing to a tree while you looked at it. That's a very powerful skill to have! I in fact tend to always look away to try to make things really easy for myself, but if you can do it all right before your eyes that's a lot more versatile. I like that you talked to yourself in the dream. I do this all the time and I agree that it seems to be a help with getting really focused on the dream and your goals. Congrats on the great experience!
