    1. Dance With Corn/ Abe Pulled Over

      by , 01-25-2011 at 08:48 PM
Last night I set an alarm clock 4.5 hours after I went to sleep, intending to wake up and write about any dreams I had had, but when I got up I couldn't remember any. In the dream I remember from last night, I was at RUSH (a dance performance my girl friend and I are in) and I Emily was doing her solo or duet at the beginning that everyone has been talking about. Her and Dan were doing pretty much what I saw them doing when I walked by them practicing, but there was another guy, who isn't really in the dance but in this dream he was the leader. I think he had a trench coat or something like that on and he was throwing corn in the air in super, epic slow motion. There were all kinds of different camera angles (which doesn't make sense but it was a dream) and Emily was acting like she was crying, it was part of the dance because it was supposed to be really intense or something like that. At this point I was suddenly riding in a red car with Abe driving, but I didn't notice the change. I was telling him about how awesome the camera angles were when a cop drove by us and noticed that I wasn't wearing a shirt or a seat belt. He pulled us over and as he did I told Abe that I would pay for the ticket. He was slowing down and pulling over and he slowly ran into a parked car on the side of the road. The cop came up to the car. That is the last thing I remember.

    2. Boxing & Lake

      by , 01-24-2011 at 10:50 PM
On Friday night I had two dreams that I remember. In the first, my roommate Abe was getting ready to box with my neighbor Ryan. There was a boxing ring, but I don't think there were any ropes, just a platform. Abe didn't have boxing gloves on, he had one bare hand and one of those brown glove/mittens that Bauer has. Bauer and I were cheering him on and trying to get him ready and pumped up for the fight. Once he got on the platform he wasn't more than 8 feet from Bauer and I, but he couldn't hear us for some reason. We were whispering about how Ryan was definitely going to win. When the fight started, Ryan was a much smarter boxer than Abe. But he had a huge stick with large, square punching gloves on each side. He held this on his shoulders, and skillfully beat Abe without hurting him or getting hit at all himself. At this point, Ryan said he didn't want to hurt Abe, so Abe got off the stage. Then, Will hopped up fists flying and got several quick, solid shots on Brasser's face. That is the last thing I remember from that dream.
The second dream I had that night was shorter. The people I had been hanging out with that night were there: Bauer, Jamie, Joel, Kuik, and Blake. We were all in a big lake, maybe in a canyon or something like that. We were all swimming but not moving. Bauer was gone at some point, and I don't understand why or how I knew this, but it was my duty to make sure Jamie was alright. Jamie and I joked about something, and we were still in the lake but not wet, whatever that mean. Then Bauer came back and we were all in the lake like before but we were swimming to the side of the lake, which had a canyon wall. Then, I woke up.

I had dreams on Saturday and Sunday nights too, but sadly I did not have time to write them down when I woke up so I have forgotten them.

    3. First Lucid Dream

      by , 01-21-2011 at 02:01 AM
I have read about lucid dreams before, and tried to lucid dream, but every time I realize I'm dreaming I wake up. Last night before I went to sleep my friend was telling me about the lucid dream he had had the night before, and talked about focusing on the horizon when you think you're waking up. I went to bed thinking about lucid dreaming, but not really trying to. I was sleeping in my bed at college, but in my dream I was in bed at home. In the dream, I was going back and fourth from a "dream" and being in my bed at home. I thought about focusing on the horizon, like Joel told me but I thought it would wake me up. I was for a short time in nothingness, complete blackness, and everything was rumbling. It was at this point that I decided to attempt to focus on the horizon, so I sat up in bed, still in my dream, and pulled my blinds apart so I could focus on the horizon. It worked. I looked down out of my window and saw my dog. Then a 15-20 ft tall wolf came around the corner. I was lucid dreaming so I thought, now my dog is that big, and then she was. Then I thought, now the wolf is regular sized and a puppy, then it was. I tried to think of what I should do next when I heard faint shouts having to do with "night terror". At this point I began to hear my self screaming in real life, and realized that I couldn't wake up and couldn't move. I saw a flash of my friend Devon's face asking me something, then I woke up in a dark quiet room with no one around but my roommates who were asleep. Parts of that dream were terrifying, but I'm excited to explore lucid dreaming more.
