My IRL friend, Dean and I were just finished inflitrating some kind of compound. We came out of the vents of the building into the main interior, which was a school. There were students there, packing up the chairs and tables as it was the end of the year. I observe this happening, when suddenly I feel myself begin to wake up - I was beginning to feel my real-life body. I focused extremely hard on maintaining the dream and lo and behold, it worked! The dream resumed, with the exact same scene, except because of the almost awakening I was now lucid.

I was fairly excited, and turned to Dean to tell him but he wasn't there, so I made him walk through the doorway and told him 'Hey Dean, we're in a lucid dream!' Dean replies 'A history dream!?' and runs off somewhere. I simply looked around the area, and saw a DC who I'm pretty sure was a substitute teacher from my school. She and another student approached me, and we made small talk about dreams, which I can't remember exactly, but the teacher said, 'If you're in a dream, why aren't you doing more crazy things,' to which I replied 'I just feel like relaxing.' And it was relaxing - I observed the surroundings and noticed how real it seemed. Soon after the dream collapsed.

I'm fairly proud of this; it's been a while since my last lucid. This is the first time I've ever been able to retain the dream when about to awake, which was cool too. I suppose that makes it a DEILD?
