Let's see how my dreams compare to others, shall we?

One entry per day, of all the dreams I can remember for that night. I will record them with as much detail as I can (without being hilariously overdone, i.e. "My shirt was blue with a paisley pattern on it).

Regular text like this is inside the dream, non-lucid.
Italicized text is outside, waking commentary.
Red text is for when I'm lucid (when I finally get to that point...).

    1. Day 8 - The Battle of the Bears

by , 04-21-2011 at 02:36 AM (The Sane Asylum)
This one was definitely entertaining. I quite enjoyed it.

I was in a really small community with people who I referred to as my parents though they really weren't. It was a pretty forest-y area, and quite often came under attack by a family of four bears. The attacks were always non-lethal, and almost playful if the members of the community didn't get so angry about it.

In one attack, the bears came armed with hammers (the father bear had a gun-hammer), and in a frenzy, I chased them into the forest. I eventually got lost and ended up wandering into their home.

It was somehow part tree-house, part cave, and they weren't happy I had entered their home. They tried to fight me and get me out, starting with the youngest bear, the son. He appeared to be a stereotypical cartoon bear and wore a small vest and hat. He attacked with a hammer, and I easily incapacitated him. The mother bear, dressed in only a shirt, came next, and she was dispatched relatively easily. The daughter bear was wearing a sort of fur bikini, and had a much more human face and a round black nose. She swung her hammer around, making it hard to get close to her, but I disarmed her by throwing my hammer and knocking hers out of her hands. She fled, and I chased her down, grabbing her around the waist. She fought back (rather playfully, and laughing all the while), and when I brought her back to the room where we started fighting, I set her down and the father bear (who was the most realistic and didn't wear anything) asked "Why are you in our home? Why won't you leave us alone?"

I replied that it was because they started attacking us, and I just got caught up the moment. We came to some sort of agreement, and they helped me build a rocket ship to leave their home. It was probably the cave segment, being deep underground, and requiring some serious effort to get up from there.

Flash forward about three months (I actually watched a montage of us building it) and the rocket is done. I launch out of the bears' home and come up in the middle of my little community. It's winter now, and my family is remodeling the house. For some reason, everyone is out and about and looking really sad. I walk up to my dad, and he says to go get ready for a party. I walk up to my house and the front door is partially painted and hung crooked in the door frame. I open it and walk upstairs, accidentally brushing against a wall and getting wet paint on my shirt. Then, I get undressed shower. It's about here that I wake up.

I've just realized that the construction of the house at the end of the dream is similar to that of my grandfather's condominium. Altogether a quite entertaining dream!
    2. Day 7 - Metal Shower

by , 04-19-2011 at 07:14 PM (The Sane Asylum)
This is probably the most surreal dream I've had so far... It would have been a great dream to go lucid in, but I'm still hilariously inexperienced.

I was taking a shower in a rather dark room, one that wasn't the shower in my house. It was a very modern looking shower, with lots of brushed chrome, and it was very clean. There were two doorways on the same wall, one next to either side, in the middle were some guitar amps.

There were amps because there was some live Metallica music playing. I looked out from behind the shower curtain and there was Ozzy Osbourne and Kirk Hammet were playing some of the solos from Metallica songs. I know Ozzy Osbourne doesn't play the guitar, but that didn't seem important at the time. I got out and started walking around them, just observing them fingering the notes on an air guitar. I've never observed someone playing an instrument in a dream before, so it's pretty interesting to note that they were playing pretty accurately.

I got back in the shower for a little while longer, and I got out to watch them again. I was focusing on Ozzy for a bit when he motioned towards Kirk, indicating that I should watch him instead.

This is where the dream ends. Pretty surreal, but pretty cool too. First instance of someone playing an instrument in a dream that I can remember, and first famous people I've seen too.
    3. Day 6 - The Pirate King and Mercenary Queen

by , 04-18-2011 at 02:30 PM (The Sane Asylum)
I think this one is particularly awesome for some reason, except for the fact that it just seems like hilariously shitty fan-fiction. I wish I could remember it more clearly, but this is the clearest dream I can recall so far.

I start out in this sort of shanty town/tent camp where I am an assistant to the Pirate King Deadpool. Really, he's just referred to as the pirate king, because he doesn't actually have any ships. His business partner and ally (and rumored lover?) Cammy White, the Merc Queen pays him a visit, and leaves shortly after with her small troop of guards.

Sitting on a barrel, Deadpool mentions to me that he needs to repay that favor. He stands and announces to his army his intent to kill and present one thousand enemy troops, the Blue Arrows with some special conditions - that their hands and insignias go unharmed, and that ten of them are captured alive.

And so we come to a beach - the sky is dreary, and the water at a very low tide. There are dunes where the water ends at high tide, and no birds though I'm not sure why this is notable. The battle starts. I don't actually remember much about the battle itself, aside from some random office worker (a somewhat Dilbert like character) going through a rather cartoony sequence of trying to capture the ten men who were to be left alive and them escaping repeatedly. Third time's the charm though, and he gets them. One of the men captured is a midget, and Deadpool mentions we'll release him later. He then threatens one of the men who accidentally maimed one of the corpses' hands.

Back at camp, Cammy is waiting for Deadpool, and he mentions what he's done. I woke up shortly after this.

Altogether the clearest dream I've had so far. Let's hope it goes uphill from here.
    4. Day 5 - Croatia

by , 04-17-2011 at 07:49 PM (The Sane Asylum)
I was awoken by my friend needing a ride to work, so I didn't get to remember and record this dream properly, but as I thought over it, I could actually remember quite a bit fairly clearly. That has since faded, so I'll do my best.

I was at a beach in Croatia with my family. The beach itself wasn't actually very Croatian from my experience - it was sandy and the water was only a little cold, instead of rocky and very cold. Otherwise, the environment was nearly a perfect replica of what I can remember from being there. There was a very wooded island that rose high out of the water, so I decided to swim out to it. I worked my way out there, and began swimming around the island itself, just admiring the scenery. I passed into the island's shadow, and when I came around the other side, it was sunset already, and there was a beach immediately on the other side, actually joined to the island. It led onto the mainland, where my family was already getting out of the water. By the time I got to them, our tour guide (whom I was unaware we had) was there, in a topless bathing suit. There was a restaurant right there on the beach (which was still sandy), and we went inside and I woke up.

I had the fragments of another dream before this when I woke up, but my friend needed this ride urgently, and I didn't have time to write it down. I also remembered more from the beginning of this dream. I do remember that the scenery was incredibly beautiful, which is what I remember of my actual visit to Croatia.
    5. Day 4 - Kingdom Hearts

by , 04-17-2011 at 12:24 AM (The Sane Asylum)
I remember very little about this one, simply that it was Kingdom Hearts related. Probably because I'd beaten Kingdom Hearts 2 at my friend's house the night I had the dream.
    6. Day 3 - I Play Too Many Fighting Games

by , 04-17-2011 at 12:19 AM (The Sane Asylum)
I can't remember this one too clearly. I didn't sleep all that well.

There was some sort of fighting game - it was like a cross between Super Smash Bros. and Marvel vs. Capcom. I was seeing it as if I was in the game itself, and I can't remember if I was actually playing it myself or if I was only watching.

The first match I remember was Sentinel vs. some other random person, and Sentinel won. The next one was Captain Falcon vs. Yoshi on a beach level of some sort. Before the fight could start, some special condition started where Yoshi became stuck in an egg, and there was a sort of shelf out on the water with more eggs on it. Some were hatched, some weren't, and some spots were just empty. The condition had something to do with -teenth numbers (nineteenth, seventeenth, etc.).

I don't remember any more of this dream, because I woke up shortly after this part.
    7. Day 2 - The Play

by , 04-14-2011 at 08:12 PM (The Sane Asylum)
This is my second actual recorded dream. It's already more detailed than my previous one, thanks to some help from some dream recall topics in the forums.

I was in a small theater watching a play of some sort, and then a scene came up I was supposed to play. I got up, and got in costume (a suit jacket and hat) and began to dance around with the other actors. It was directed by my high school technical theater teacher, Ms. C. The actors were supposed to sing, but no one knew the lines, so we just kind of hummed along with the music, guessing where we could. When the scene ended, there was applause, and the room got bigger and a movie started.

When it finished, I left, got in my car, and began to drive. I wasn't going anywhere in particular, but when I tried to turn around, I accidentally turned into the courtyard of some fancy building, and couldn't get out. I drove around for a bit and couldn't find a way out still, so I got out of my car and tried to get out using the escalators. When I got back to my car, it had turned into a briefcase, and I carried it up one of the escalators. I don't remember anything else.

I think it might also be noteworthy that I woke up quite a few times this night. I think I may have already done some lucid things but couldn't hold on to them or at least remember them. That first one's the more likely of the two options. It's more likely that I was just waking up for no reason though.
    8. Day 1 - First Recorded Dream

by , 04-14-2011 at 08:08 PM (The Sane Asylum)
I meant to post this one the previous day, but I got distracted by some miscellaneous chore and forgot. Here it is now.

I was driving around my childhood neighborhood or a similar one, burning time. I think there were two other people in the back seat of the car. I vaguely recall wanting to buy or find something. As I looked around, I saw something interesting in someone's yard (it was in an area similar to the front lawn of my old house) and I went to check it out. As I continued looking, I noticed a spiderweb, and then more webs began appearing. There were some spiders of varying sizes at this point, most smaller than a standard index card, but there was one in the middle about the size of my foot. Then something changed it it became Super Mario-esque.

It's a little vague, but I'm literally just now starting to record my dreams. Hope this works!
    9. Previous Dreams I Remember

by , 04-14-2011 at 03:11 AM (The Sane Asylum)
Okay, I'm pretty new to this site, so I'm just gonna document some of the bits of dreams I can remember.

I remember having one where I was a viking. I don't remember anything besides the badass action.

I had another dream that was Legend of Zelda-esque, like a mashup of Majora's Mask and whatever else I concocted. I went around helping people in town, and I finally went to a dungeon to fight a boss. I walked through it pretty easily and at the end I found this sword that was nothing but a poorly wrapped handle and a beat up blade. When I grabbed it, it felt incredibly light, and then I went to fight the boss. He was this massive spiked roly-poly thing, and he started attacking me. When I first swung the sword at him, it turned into this amazing, shining blade with an incredibly elaborate hilt made of gold and set with all sorts of rubies and emeralds. After a few hits with the blade, he turned into some guy who was reminiscent of Ganondorf, but bigger. I killed him with the sword and promptly woke up.

There's a dream I had when I was probably about four or five years old. It was short, and it was this wolf-man thing chasing me up a hill. There was a shed at the top, and I thought I would be safe in it, so I hid inside it. Then, when I turned around, he was right there behind me. I woke up shortly after.

My favorite of these (and one that actually inspired a fantasy project) is one where I had these red tattoo things on my arms, and when I touched them, they allowed me to sprout wings so I could fly around. I don't remember much besides the actual flying, but it was incredible.
