    Lucid Dream Help (Please answer)

Okay first let me say that I've had a lucid dream before, and I want to have one again. I have created a dream journal that I write in (Its actually just a piece of paper :D) and I wrote my first entry last night. I've have been trying to lucid dream, but some weird things have been happening. First thing is when I "TRY" to lucid dream my arms feel like their becoming heavy and I start to feel dizzy or kind of like i'm floating (this is like after 20 minutes of just lying there). Then I start to feel like i'm not on my bed. It feels like my body is asleep, but I feel like i'm awake, and when I close my eyes even for extensive amounts of times I still feel like i'm making no progress. After an hour I just stop and forced myself to get up. I went to the rest room, but while I was looking in the mirror it felt like I was in a dream, and I felt literally insane. That was probably just some side effects , but I really want to lucid dream, and I want to know what i'm doing wrong. Thank you.
(Sorry for the long read, this is my first post and I needed to find a place to post this.)

Well it sounds to me that you entered sleep paralysis. This is where your body falls asleep and you're still aware. (I've experienced it several times) There is also a slim chance that when you got up and went to the mirror that you could have been dreaming. This is what's called a false awakening, where you dream that you woke up and started doing things.

You clearly have alot of questions. I would recommend you read the site's home page articles and some wiki articles for more in-depth information, if you have not done so already. If you still have questions ask me, or better yet, post on the forums and some more experienced members may be able to help you.

Good luck and I hope you have your first lucid soon.
