    Yay, 1st Lucid Dream!!!

Yay! Had my first lucid dream (since knowing what it is, and trying to). It was short, sweet and classic to what others report typically happens to lucid-dreaming noobs:

    The lucid dream:
After (or right before?) shouting to a crowd of people something like "Hey everybody we're dreaming" (or was it a question? I know it had the word dream in it) I was suddenly conscious I was dreaming and thought "this is it, what shall I do...?!" Of course, I decide -Fly! And then leapt into the air, euphorically soaring over the crowd...however, all too quickly, the brightness of another dream/reality (i think I thought it was this real world, which is perhaps when I already started losing lucidity) started shining through that scene, and I lost awareness that I was dreaming.

    A few snippets after-wards:
I then had a few other regular dreams -underground passages led by semi-creepy magical beings, a war/gunfight scene, swimming outside a red-cross/hospital for sea creatures, where someone was bringing in these dolphin heads that were someone still alive, etc. Just bits remembered, but they also sort of distanced me from the original lucid dream and the memory of the euphoria --though, since I was conscious(!) it is still quite in my memory.

    Possible Influences:
I've been trying somewhat (maybe 1/3of the nights over the past month) various methods to have a lucid dream, since seeing the movie Inception and then beginning reading a couple amazing books on the subject.
One main difference last night was that I tried something I used to do much more frequently before bed in my more prayerful days -I reviewed my day and apologized for things I was sorry for/lacked integrity with, gave thanks for various things, 'prayed' for a few wants/needs, etc. and in general made peace with the day. Whether or not this is the main key for my having a lucid dream (it is similar to a method suggested by others), it was a great way to go to sleep and I hope to do it regularly.

I'm excited and grateful that it happened, and look forward to growing more in this skill/art --asking people questions, trying out different abilities and going on adventures...perhaps even meeting other people in their dreams. If you see me, or, let's say, a small red rubber ball, in your dream --let me know

      Good job.

Well, sleeping well is key to lucid dreams. You have found a way to calm your mind before you sleep. Thanks for reminding me to do this.

Thanks Nomad. Not sure if you saw my wall post, but I've been reading a lot of your dreams and posts today --and I'm quite impressed...especially the shared dreaming space, something I've been fascinated with since I talked with somebody about something even crazier (tell you another time, but I have a hunch you'd love it). I also listened to your podcast interview with Shred, and I see we have some common threads to our story (with the charismatic christian stories; the sleep paralysis and croaking away with a rebuke, etc.) I'd love to talk sometime. Looks like you're in Hawaii. Let me know if you'd be up for a call or a Skype (I'm "wonderosity" in skype).
