non-lucid

This is amazing that I can recall this much but I can remember chunks of 3 dreams I just had.

The first
I'm at my Aunt's house and I remember it started upstairs, me and some other people playing playstation 3. We come downstairs and my Aunt keeps asking what we were doing, I swear to her we were just playing PS3 but she keeps saying "are you sure?" as if we were doing something else and trying to cover it up. I mention we were playing MGS4 kind of in an aggravated tone, because that is all we were doing.
I also remember there were these 2 asian girls there and I was showing them how to play poker and stuff. I remember one part where one of the girls is playing online and she flops a set(3 of a kind) I tell her just to check but as I'm moving my finger to the mouse she tries to click comething and we accidentally hit fold. She gets very sad and I give her a hug, I tell her next time to just check and let someone else bet, then to raise as a trap. I also remember noticing she had a lot of the same music as me on her computer, one album in particular was Nine Inch Nails "Ghosts" and I remember thinking this must be a popular album in Japan for her to have it.
I remember a later part with one of them sitting on the couch doing something and my mom commenting "she's just a kid" and I say, something like "She's Japanese, girls in Japan do things you wouldn't believe at her age." She wasn't quite a kid though I think she was probably around 18 based on the dream.
I also remember this being a really nice fancy house with a full bar in one corner. I remember thinking to offer the girls a drink, and remember seeing Oban 14 Year old (single malt scotch whisky) on the counter. Probably no relevance other than I want to try this whisky and haven't had a chance yet, and it's also known for being expensive, perhaps overpriced.

The Second
I'm in a different house with my mom and sister this time. I remember two dogs and one came over and put his head in my lap, then another would come for a while and do the same. This made the first dog(my real dog) jealous and he comes over and butts out the other dog and lays down his head in my lap. I mention this to my sister and pat the dog.

Then I remember my mom talking to some people and telling them I don't have job. I walk over and say "I'm actually a professional poker player, nice to meet you." and shake the first guys hand. When I turn to shake the other guy's hand(a black guy) I realize my hand is bandaged for some reason. 3 fingers are bandaged and something is tying them all together which makes it difficult to maneuver the hand. So I reach out to shake his hand and he gives me a weird look upon seeing my hand at first. Strangely enough, when he reaches out to shake my hand he only has a thumb and a blackened stump(like it was burned or something). First he can't reach because the arm is shorter, and I don't think he had a palm. So I reach out and grasp his stump and shake it.

The third
This may have been in the same house, but it was in the backyard outdoors in a two-story deck type thing. We are on the top floor playing volleyball(with kickballs) with the people on the bottom floor. I remember one of my friends being "tagged out" or something because of something I did, and I apologize to him, and step out from behind the sliding door and take his place on the deck promising to do a good job. Before I was only occasionally hitting balls from behind the door. I miss my first few but then remember in gym class my teacher taught us how to hit a volleyball and I use this technique and manage to hit the next few. Finally, I remember being downstairs and seeing Michael Jordan playing with us. Someone throws a basketball out and Jordan says something about basketball and how it was a coincidence that someone threw that out while he was there. Then someone knocks the basketball away and someone throws out another one. I mention to Jordan how this was "on purpose" and he says the first wasn't, but the second one probably was.
Thats it for this dream.

I remember something from an earlier dream too with Michael J. Fox and I was commenting how short he was. I said he was like 5'3 or something, but he was actually in the dream talking to me.

I'm glad to see my dream recall is improving, probably because I woke up 15 minutes before the alarm clock was supposed to ring and had time to think about it.

It's just a fragment but I can remember two parts to this dream.

In the first I'm at my Aunt and Uncle's house. I take a shower and use 2 bars of soap because the first one has some weird smell to it.
Later my Aunt asks me why I used 2 different soaps(she calls it detergent for some reason) and 2 different shampoos. I tell her why I used the 2 soaps(saying one had some tinge to it), but say I only used one shampoo. She nods sarcastically but appears unconvinced that I only used one shampoo.

Next dream: I'm walking in my high school cafeteria and pass an old friend Harrison. He calls out my name "Daniel!" I turn and realize he is talking to another Daniel, he usually calls me Danny.
Everyone sitting next to him laughs and I tell them I noticed as soon as I turned to face their table. "You know he never calls you that," one of them said.
I see everyone at the table and finally realize a girl I used to date is with them as well, Megan.
I walk up to Megan and say " I didn't know you had this lunch period, I haven't seen you in forever." I give her a hug and remember holding her very closely. I then take a look at her and say "you look good."

Later me and Harrison are in some kind of theme park, we're walking across a bridge and the Jurassic park theme song is playing. I hum it as we walk across the bridge, remembering a scene in the movie which never actually happened. But in this "Scene" the main character is drifting down the river and the 2 kids are complaining that the music speakers aren't working, and he says something like "we have all the music we need on this river" referring to the sounds of nature. The theme song then played in the movie. But of course this whole scene never happened.
The dream ends.

As usual there is more to this dream, but I can only remember the tail end before I woke up.

It began with a false awakening, I remember there was a dream before then I woke up into this one.
In the first dream I barely remember a small puppy dog was in my bed. I loved this dog and he was playing in my bed with
me before I fell asleep and had the false awakening in the dream realm.

I am in a strange house, I briefly recall that my Dad and sister live in this house, the previous dream took place here, and I'm visiting them.
I feel really tired and keep falling back asleep. Finally, I force myself to get out of bed. I feel bad for sleeping
so late. I look around and notice its late afternoon, 5-6 based on the lighting. Nobody is in the house and I remember walking around thinking everyone left.

Later I'm at a grocery/convenience store with my mom and sister. I am standing in front of a freezer trying to pick some
ice cream. I decide on blue bell Almond bar, but they only come in packs of 4. I see a premium almond coated chocolate ice-cream bar for 1.99 and decide on that. I can remember some comment my sister made about me picking the most expensive one.

I walk to the line where my mom is standing and throw the ice cream bar down on the conveyor to be checked out.
As I'm standing in line with my mom, my sister walks into line with us. She walks past the guys behind us, 2 men dressed
in civil war army uniforms. My sister salutes one guy and makes some comment about him being a cop.

I correct her looking at the guy and saying "He's an officer, Army right?" I ask him. He responds yes, and tells me that
the uniform is real civil war era, he thinks. He tells me he doesn't know for sure, but his guess is civil war. I tell him
I agree, that I have seen army uniforms before and it definitely looks to be civil war era. I can't remember his rank for sure, but he was officer, captain or higher.

The dream ends here

I wish I could remember more, this dream was at least 3 times longer, but my dream recall still needs work. I'm glad I could remember this much. I just know that there was more before the false awakening/top dream layer.

It started with me, my room mate and a couple other faceless friends. We are watching a Dave Chappelle comedy stand-up special. I mention off-hand that I know Dave in real life and he is a pretty cool guy.
Dave makes a joke about kicking someone's ass and I mention that he's not like that at all, and is actually a nice guy. My room mate asks "yeah, but he would probably whoop your ass in real life." I agree saying "probably."

Later I visit Dave and he is with 2 of his friends in a class, wood-floored apartment. I tell Dave about what happened earlier and he asks what I said about his routine. I mention the ass-kicking joke and he asked what I told my friends. I tell him that I said he could probably kick my ass in real life. He laughs and I also mention that I told them he's not like that in real life, and that he's actually a really nice guy.
He then asks why I didn't bring my room mate and friends, one of Dave's friends comments "Where are your best friends(or why didn't you bring your best friends?" Which I think means something, since in real life these people are far from my best friends.
There was some more but I can't remember enough.

I slept late today and had many dreams which I cant remember.

One involved a movie based on Oedipus Rex with Cartman from South Park playing the king, I remember commenting that he did a good job.

Another involved me talking to a professor about a research study I have been deliberating(I remember more of this so I'll discuss it)

I walk down to his desk after class, everyone is leaving the room. I say "Can I ask you a question Dr. Jones?" He responds "How can I answer that question with no?" this is his way of saying go ahead, he is a very open professor and has never turned down a question. I began telling him that I am considering running a hypothetical experiment about the effects of psychedelics in depression. I explain to him that there was a study conducted on LSD, which found it can treat depression(don't know if this is entirely true). I mention that there have only been a handful of studies and that this is a novel research area.
He is listening, interested and makes helpful comments throughout. I finally mention the difference between my study and previous ones, I intend to use a psychedelic which is found naturally in the human body, dimethyltyrptamine. I say "I want to use a psychedelic found in your body" and point to his chest, he suddenly gets a look of immense interest, but before I can explain the dream ends.

I had another fragment which I believe proceeded the false awakening. I remember that I had a party in my new apartment, it looked different(even though in reality the only difference is my room mate moved out). I walk into my room and pick up my phone, it says missed call and when I click on it it says "so many." As if I missed many calls and it can't display them all. It then flashes a message to connect to the computer to retrieve these missed calls. I vaguely remember searching around the room for the cable to connect it. Then

I hear a knocking, "Oh, that must be room mate coming to pick up his last few boxes." I get up in a hurry and am rushing towards the door, suddenly I realize that I'm not awake. Then I actually wake up.

Here's the strange thing, I knew he was coming to pick up the boxes, but about 20 minutes after this false awakening I actually heard a knocking on my door. Lo and behold it was my room mate, here to pick up the last boxes. It may be considered a dream foresight(I don't believe it), because it happened very shortly after the dream. More likely it was just a happy coincedence

It began in my Aunt's house. There were 2 babies running around, one from her family and one from somebody else's. One of the babies peed on a carpet and the other baby walked over and pointed it out to us.
I then remember a country singer came over and was talking to us about something, he had come over to our house to visit us for some reason. I know there was more to this dream, I remember and earlier part with my Dad there as well.
I also remember explaining to my Aunt about how margarine was less healthy than butter, I explained the process of how they make margarine(hydrogenation) and how this creates unnatural trans fats which are worse for you than butter.

The next dream took place immediately after(warning its gruesome and dark). A bit nightmarish, and I'll tag it as such for fair warning.


A man has a dog and is castrating it (neutering). We are on a dock, looking out over a body of water, I think there was 1 kid with us, probably the man's son. The dog is under no anesthesia and I am sickened by the procedure.

He cuts off the dog's testicles, whole from the scrotum, with a sharp pocket knife. The dog lays down and appears injured.
He then takes the scrotum and opens it up and says something like "now you'll find the kittens inside."

I'm warning you this is really gruesome.

He then takes the 2 pink testes out of the scrotum and says look "the two kittens are talking to each other," and makes mewing sounds while holding the 2 testicles. I say something like "stop."

The dog then starts barking and jumping up, I am a bit scared.

The man says to the dog "hey calm down, stop," or something like that. The dog then manages to bite his arm, the man gets mad and opens the dog's mouth and cuts it from inside its mouth, one end to the other.
The dream ends, my last image is the dogs mouth and teeth, and the knife cutting his mouth. I wake up considerably frightened.

That's all I can remember from this morning.

I had this dream last night, I'm late to record, here's what I can remember.
I was in a zombie takeover, the few remaining survivors had gathered in wal-mart. We needed AA batteries for some reason and ammunition for the few guns we had, which I distinctly remember were mine, I provided them.
A female survivor tells me all the AA batteries in the main battery aisle have been used up. We'll have to sneak some from the front. We quietly walk to the front by the registers, and find one of those battery kiosks. I grab one of the big packs and say something akin to "glad that's over with."
We then head to the back to get the ammunition, I had to remind her of this and as we're heading to the back of the store, the dream ends.

I am restarting my dream journal after about 7 months off, due to neglect. BTW, I hate this new format, I like to have a thread with all my dreams in it, since these journals are mostly for us am I right?

2/26/11- Had a dream last night that I met Andrew Zimmern from "Bizarre Foods." He started by telling me some of the places he had been, and we actually did try some bizarre foods. I can't remember what we specifically tried though.
I do remember as he was leaving he kind of flat out told me that he doesn't like me, I was really shocked. He said I basically asked him too many questions and wouldn't let him talk. As he left I asked him another question saying, this will be my last. I told him I was going to Vietnam in the summer and asked if he could recommend any good restaurants. His reply was "You're going to Vietnam, that'll be a journey."
End of dream
couple of things I noted, I'm not actually going to Vietnam, but I am going to Spain, definitely interesting. Also I kind of already have a good interpretation of this dream.
