Night 2: Strange vacations and outdated software

A lot of last night's dreams were lost when my mother woke me up to tell me something, but the dreams that followed were somewhat based on the one's that came before, so I was able to sort of connect them in a way. I still wasn't totally lucid, but I'm starting to realize that that's because even when I'm getting close to lucidity I don't do anything to confirm for myself that it's a dream, so I just go along with the changing dreamscape.

To start, I was in an RV with some people. I know other people were there, but I don't know who and I especially don't know the man who was driving. Our destination was this really tall tower with a spiral ramp up it that we had to go around to get to the top. At the very top there was a section where the driver had to bank hard, thus hooking the front wheels on a really strong cable, although the rest of the vehicle hung vertically down the side of the tower. I don't remember how I got out of the RV, but I do remember looking down on it and wondering how we were going to get it up to the top of the tower. There was some heaving involved, but somehow we were literally able to pull it up through sheer manpower, which is one sign that I was dreaming that I didn't listen to.

I think there were some things that went on after that, but I don't really remember what they were. The next thing I remember is running into my girlfriend, which was unusual because she hadn't come with me in the RV I came in. She was with another guy, so in this dream I guess she was my ex-girlfriend. He seemed like a jackass, but that's only because I really really didn't like him in the dream. The odd thing was she started kissing me right in front of him while explaining why we couldn't be together. I didn't argue, but it was obviously confusing, haha. As I walked away I think I was close to being lucid, because I remember so vividly that I intentionally looked back at her new boyfriend and said very sarcastically and patronizingly, "See ya later, champ." For whatever reason I also remember seeing one of my ex-girlfriends from a long time ago there with a new dude as well, but I didn't talk to her at all.

The next part was weird because I don't remember much other than being in what I think was the basement of the tower and being sort of afraid. I don't remember what happened down there, but I know something did.

The scene then jumped to a grocery store. I had already bought groceries, and for some reason they had this rectangular glass case full of video games that you could rent. By the case there was this little pad where you would click on the console of the game you were looking for then browse for that game, so I picked up Diddy Kong Racing for the N64 for $5.00 (why they were renting out N64 games in the year 2010 I have no idea--that's the other dreamsign I should have picked up on). I remember wanting to get another game too, but the weird part was it was more than just wanting--I NEEDED that other game. I don't know what game it was or what I needed it for, but it contained something that for one reason or another I had to have. It was even that I had like an obsession over the game...something about it was just vital to me. So I went for the pad to find it, but the pad had converted itself into a credit card swiper, and a woman was using it to purchase her groceries. I had grabbed the pen to use it but she needed it to sign her name on the electronic screen, so I gave it to her. She apologized profusely for whatever reason, but I said, "Oh no, don't worry about it at all." She smiled, signed, then took her groceries and left.

At that point I was about to get my other game when my nine-year-old sister busted through the front door with some of my other siblings saying my mom wanted me. I angrily picked up my grocery bags, which were heavier than I expected, and stormed out of the store, throwing them in the back of the car. I think I was still irritable from earlier when I'd realized my girlfriend had a new dude, and my mom explained that I needed to be home to help my dad build something, which pissed me off even more.

That's about when I woke up.
