Katrina

This is a dream from a while ago that I had while in my room at my mom's place - before the divorce and before I started sleeping at my boyfriend's place. I woke up and immediately typed this out to him on the laptop he gave me at the time.

Also: most fucked up dream ever. It's been a while since I've only witnessed a dream and not had me as a character in it. It was some sort of class trip for a grade 11 or 12 bunch of students into this cave. The cave was chilled but not as cold as it should have been. The walls were dark, but when you subjected them to light, they turned this sickly pink, almost looked like purple veins

If you chipped the walls, they came off as these flaky crystal-like chunks. Kind of like melting sugar.

The stalagmites/tites were not regular shaped, (so I suppose they weren't actually stalagmites/tites..) but twisted and off-white.

The dream focused on one of the two teachers leading this group of about 13 kids. He reminded me of Bill Nye, kind of sounded like him, too. His thoughts were the narrative. He was one of those fun spirited teachers, always pulling pranks on his students and making them laugh. The other was a black dude who was extremely intelligent, but a little serious and unappreciative of the Bill Nye dude

So they enter in the mouth of the cave during the night. I remember it had to be night but I don't remember why. They have their supplies and it was planned as a 5 hour exploration of this weird cave. I wish I could remember where it was located.

They're going through it, touching the walls and one girl took note that there were hardly any bugs in the cave. The Bill Nye dude said it was because there was a dragon in the cave, a predator that ate anything that entered. Everyone laughed but it went to the black teacher's face and he looked uneasy.

They get to this one part of the cave that's extremely dark and they have to light these two torch-like devices with two prongs at the end so two people could hold it while sitting. These two lazy boys are holding it, leaning against the gross, pink wall and the Bill Nye dude teacher disappears after telling his colleague that he's going to pull a prank on the students, but didn't tell him what.

One kid asks if he can cook a smokie over the torches. The second teacher sighs and says okay. Another kid asks if he can roast a marshmallow. The teacher resigns and says yes. The marshmallow kid ... shit, he kind of looked that Corey Feldman or whatever his last name is.

So the kid is leaning the marshmallow towards the fire, saying he likes his burnt and the teacher tells him to stop but the kid was almost done so he continues. The teacher gets a little frantic and bats the stick away from the kid and the gooey marshmallow hits the ground with a slap.

I had been working on this suit for ages and didn't have a chance to use it until the excursion to Dragonbreath Valley. It wasn't for no reason that I set them up earlier, oh no. No one notices at first, but a boy points out that the marshmallow is nearly absorbed into the ground and asks why that happened. The teacher looks hesitantly at it and tells them that they should leave. The students give groans of protest saying he always kills the fun, but they follow him as they trek back outside.

The marshmallow kid trips on this chunk of wall and reaches out to brace his fall. His hands hit the floor with this weird smack and he wonders at it for a second before he realizes he's sinking into the floor.

He cries out. The students look back. This is a particularly narrow part of the cave so the teacher is shouting, asking what happened. "He's stuck!" they cried. Two kids tried to pull him out but the floor was solid around his hands and knees so it hurt to pull.

It goes back to the Bill Nye dude. He's taking the same route as before, but notices some differences and begins to feel uneasy. Suddenly, he comes across a hole in the wall, spilling out this orange and black caked goo. Looked like lava and glowed like lava but was cool to the touch.

He hears a horrifying, shrill cry. All the students and the teacher are running by him blind with fear. The other teacher yells at the Bill Nye dude to follow, but he refuses and the others leave without him. He still hears the pained screaming down the cave so he drops the head and begins to run.

He was on fire, but it was a slow fire - slow and hot. The orange goo was everywhere, crawling almost life-like, drawn to the human bodies and it was piled up on either side of the kid.

I coudn't make out the kids features, but his animalistic groans and gurgles were coming out of a black hole, opened wide. His body was convulsing and he'd shrink back from the two goop monsters whenever a part of him brushed them, even though they were cold.

An enormous, demon-like head erupted from the ground behind it and screamed in hissing and this weird, two toned roar. It's eyes were blind and tiny - but glowing orange. It dripped in the goo, it's jaw was narrow but so fucking huge.

It opened it's mouth to a bug-like sheen that covered it's tongue. Like a black bettle's shell. The inside of it's mouth was thick with slime and saliva, it's teeth these jutting black things - kind of like a shark in that it had so many layers of them but they were more shaped individually like a cat's.
