    1. Youth American Grand Prix

      by , 02-17-2014 at 07:44 PM
      BACKGROUND INFO:

Youth American Grand Prix, or YAGP as I will refer to it in this dream, is an international ballet competition held in the US. I competed in it in January in Tampa, FL; but some girls from my ballet studio are going this weekend to compete in Atlanta, GA, so I'm guessing that's what brought this dream up.

      ~*~
It was the day that we were supposed to leave for Atlanta, and everyone was frantically trying to calm themselves of nerves as we all were at the studio waiting to get one rehearsal in before we had to leave. I, however, was 20x more frantic. For some reason, I had to completly redo my whole contemporary dance today. Right before we left. New music, new costume, new everything. I'd have to learn a completely new routine. All in all, I was freaking out.
Sitting there, in the hallways and waiting for class to start, my friend Kennedy looked over at me and said, "Katya, I still can't believe how you can dance with toenails that long!"
"Huh..?" I glanced down, my toenails appeared to be at normal length.
Several minutes of all us just sitting in silence followed, until I couldn't take it anymore. Slowly, I got up and walked to the end of the hall, leaning my back against the white wall and closing my eyes as I felt tears start to creep out of them. Trying my best to hold in a sob I felt all kinds of thoughts form inside my head.
How in the world was I possibly going to learn a whole dance today?
      How would I remember it?
What if I forgot on stage?

I was already not the best at picking up thing quickly...
"You don't have to do this if you don't want to," I heard my mom's voice, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Mm.." I made a sound with my voice, not even sure how to answer. Turning my head, I saw everyone was already heading to class. Grabbing my stuff, I sighed and followed them.

    2. Monstromology and High School

      BACKGROUND INFO:
      Monstromology - Study of Monsters
I've been reading a series about it, and so I guess it played its way into my dream.

Oh, and I tend to write out my dreams as if they were stories, so sorry about that. :$
      ~*~
It's Spirit Week in my high school, a Tuesday, and to kick it off our school is having an exhibit on Monstromology. It looked huge, and from what I could see of it there looked to be eery green lights coming from the inside of it. As soon as school ended, I grabbed my backpack and headed over to go check it out.

It was then that I ran into two problems:
      A. I had no money, from what I heard it cost $5.00 to get in.
      B. Because it was Tuesday, I was getting picked up early from school, at 4:00 pm, where as usually I end up waiting until 4:15 or so.

Thing was, this was the only day it was going to be open, and I reaaaalllyy wanted to see it. So, naturally, I used what little time I had to try to find a way in.
I didn't have to wait long, for almost immediately I spotted my friend Jacob waiting around about to leave.

"Jacob, Jacob!" I cried his name as I hurried over and grabbed him by the arm.
      "What?"
"I really want to go the Monstromology exhibit!"
      "Okay..."
      "And it's five dollars."
      "Okay.."
"And I don't have any money so I kinda need you to pay for me..."
"Actually, it's $2.50..." He shifted uncomfortably.
"So that means you'll pay?!" I smiled excitedly."
      "Well...okay.."
"Yay!" I jumped up excitedly as I watched him hand over the money and we walked into the cafeteria.

Right as we entered, I checked my phone and saw it was 3:52; 7 minutes. I looked around and decided we had to hurry through it. I signaled for him to follow, and we quickly walked in.

It was unlike anything I had seen before. The walls of the cafeteria had been transformed to hang cages attached to it. These housed all kinds of creatures and monstrosities that I didn't even know had existed. Tables were set up that contained specimen that looked like they could be severely disformed amphibians. My first few thoughts were that this was very gross, and as we kept walking farther and farther through it I began to flinch when I saw some strange bugs or something that didn't particularly appeal to me. After we had nearly completed the exhibit, I suddenly remembered where I was to be.

"Um, I kinda gotta go!" I glanced at Jacob before turning on my heel and running out towards the tennis courts where I was to be picked up.
