    1. Violent Tornado

      by , 03-14-2012 at 03:18 PM
This one is going to have me on edge for some time. This one happened before the dream in the previous entry.

In this dream, I'm sitting in the back of our family's car as it's stopped on the road by a field. This field is about two minutes from our local highschool, and thus two minutes from the town.

I'm looking east, where a bright red background of the sky makes the dark clouds look even more ominous than they already are.

As I watch, a part of the clouds which is obviously the wall cloud of the supercell, begins to change rapidly, forming a large, violent tornado. I want to freak out, but I'm too busy staring in awe at this destructive force of nature. It's the first tornado I've ever seen in person, without being in it's direct path. It begins heading towards our town, where it literally levels the place.

It is later deemed to be an EF-4 and there being at least 50 casualties and a good number more injuries (there are 8000 people in our town).

It is apparently March in this dream, and there are no leaves on the trees yet.
    2. She Must Be A Spy

      by , 03-14-2012 at 03:06 PM
I don't know where this came from, but anyway. I had this dream last night.

In the dream, I'm at a party that seems very 50s/60s, and possibly in America. Everyone seemed to be American except me and the man in this dream. I don't really think I'm me, seeing as I was Russian man in this dream (I'm not Russian). Anyway.

I'm sitting a a table by myself, and the room is pretty crowded. I take a sip of the champagne(?) that's in my hand, as a man I recognise sits down across from me and we start a discussion about "the plans" (this man sort of looks like Uncle Max from "The Sound of Music"). He might be English or from some other part of Europe. His accent is mixed.

There is a woman standing in the corner of the room talking with a group of men, she wears a smirk. They're all laughing and having a good time, when she decides to walk over to us and greet us. She has short curly blonde hair, and is possibly in her late 20s. She has bright blue eyes and is wearing a long silver dress with a white feather boa.

I don't remember what she said, but she mentioned a "Rudolf" that we had apparently been talking about. It occured to me later that she shouldn't have known what we were talking about, and as the man I had spoken to earlier passed me, I grabbed him by the collar. He gave me a funny look.

      "What is it?"

"That woman, I think she's a spy. Look at her over there," I said pointing to her across the room. He furrowed his brows and shook his head.

"Alright", he said. "I'll look into it. You stay here and keep an eye on her."

The scene changes and we're trying to escape the building that party is being held in by climbing out a window and jumping into the river below.

    3. Hail

      by , 03-08-2012 at 09:02 PM
I've had this dream in the back of my head for some time now, but over a year ago, I had a dream about hail. I tend to be the type to have dreams about natural disasters, specifically severe thunderstorms, because I am a storm chaser. However, this one is the one that caught me off guard, especially given the events of the next day.

In my dream, I am at my grandmother's house. It's the middle of the summer, and about 3 or 4 PM. We are sitting in their living room, talking about the weather and waiting for my grandfather to get home. He drives a semi to and from New Jersey and occasionally Chicago and Michigan. Just as he pulls in the drive way, the sky outside starts to turn pitch black, the clouds churning with instability. A violent storm starts, just as he makes it into the house.

My grandparents have two dogs and in this dream one of them, Ginger, dives under the kitchen table for cover while whimpering in fear; something she doesn't usually do.

The storm is short lived, and begins to calm down or so we think. Suddenly, a series of large "BANG"s resonate from outside and when I glance out the window, I am horrified at what I see.

There is a hail storm outside with hail coming down in the size of soccer balls.

I beckon my aunt over to the window and she looks at us in fear.

      Then I woke up.

The next day, while sitting on the couch, my grandparents were talking about the Bible. I am not a Christian, nor am I a Jehovah's Witness like they are. I consider myself a Pantheist with Buddhist and Daoist influences. I typically ignore what they have to say, but the one thing that caught my attention was that my grandma had begun to talk about hail.

She had asked my grandfather to convert the measuring units they were using in the book so that she could imagine the size of the hail they were speaking of. It came out to be roughly the size of a soccer ball.

It freaked me out, and I wondered if there could be some sort of symbol or meaning to this dream that I was having.

    4. Political Asylum

      by , 03-08-2012 at 05:53 PM
This is a dream I had several weeks ago, and neglected to post about. This was partially lucid, and partially just a regular dream.

In this dream, I had escaped from America for reasons unknown to me. I had chosen the People's Republic of China to seek political asylum in

I was walking around this large temple like area, presumably in Beijing. It was sunset, and they were about to start firing fireworks in commemoration of some important event. It was like the Forbidden City, but I'm not sure if that's where it was.

There were people sitting at small round tables, talking and eating. I began running around frantically, asking if anyone knew how to speak English. I do not know Chinese in real life, outside of "Ni'hao" and what little I pick up from music. So I was yelling all of this in English.

At a far table, near a pillar and the steps that lead off of the building, two men were sitting there. One was older, about 40 and was laughing at me. The other was about 20 and had short, neatly cut hair and classes. They were both Chinese. The younger of the two shot the other a dirty look before standing up and saying "I speak English". He explained that he was a student journalist from a nearby university and that it was necessary for him to know the language. He asked me what my problem was and I explained my situation to him. I asked him if there was anywhere nearby where I could go to get a passport or authorisation to remain in the country legally. He asked me why I chose China instead of Canada, and I shrugged my shoulders replying "It seemed like a good idea at the time".

Later in the dream after I had been given authorisation to remain in the country legally, my reasoning was revealed to me. I was in a Chinese military base or government building with a general and several of his men. I was examining an air travel map between Asia and N. America. Canada had completely shut down their borders and were not allowing any refugees from what was going on in America, to enter their country. They wished to remain "neutral".

I remember explaining to the general that I had to go back to America and "help the resistance" but that I could not enter into America the usual way. Canada was not an option. If I entered directly into America, I would be detained at the airport, border crossing, etcetera, and the plan would fail. The general suggested creating a diversion that would allow me to slip into the country unnoticed.

And this diversion was bombing New York City

Then I woke up, relieved to find that it was just a dream. Gotta love the surreal nature of the subconcious sometimes

    5. Amendments IV, VIII and Section III of Article III of the Constitution

      by , 03-08-2012 at 05:25 PM
This happened not last night, but about last Friday night. In my dream, I was representing an unknown client in a federal court case. He was a tall black man, an African immigrant presumably from Somalia. He was roughly in his mid 30s, and always seemed like something was bothering him and with good reason.

I do not remember the details, but he had immigrated to America to escape violence in his native country, hoping to start a better life full of peace and prosperity here. He had lived here for at least a decade and had a wife and two kids who had all been born and raised here in the U.S. He worked a full time job and was actually a decent man, went to church and did his best to obey the law.

I don't know what happened, but he ended up having federal charges of terrorism brought against him over something petty. If he was convicted, he'd be subject to capital punishment via hanging (obviously the justice system is archaic, although this is a futuristic dream). A large portion of the country's population was up in arms over it, especially seeing as they had not brought substantial physical evidence to the table, witnesses or a confession.

I remember standing in front of the courtroom, specifically addressing the jury, and defending the man on the grounds that federal law enforcement had broken the man's IV Amendment rights, were on the verge of breaking his VIII Amendment rights, and that their attempts at convicting him were clearly outside the boundaries of Section III of Article III of the United States Constitution. Then, appealing to their emotional side, I began asking them how they would feel if they were in his shoes.

Some of the accusations I made against the feds were based off of racism and predisposed stereotypes of Africans and African American people. I accused them of bringing xenophobia to the table in a sickening attempt to disguise it and use it as "evidence" for his conviction.

I don't know what happened to the man, as I woke up, but this was a rather interesting dream and something I feel may happen in the future. I did not have plans initially to go into Law in university, rather Political Science, but this is something I have been considering.
